So I downloaded the 2.36 update then as it was installing I got an error code 800something or other, and I couldnt do anything with the ps button or even just holding down the power and turning it off. I had to switch it off on the back and now when I go to turn it back on it says the last installation was cancelled and its attempting to reinstall but always at 56% I get the error code. I cant get to the XMB..I dont even get the orchestra music at the beginning. Whne I get off of work i'm gonna call technical assisstant but just wondering if I can get any help from my online peeps. Thanks for reading!!!

well the worst thing that could happen has just happened, anytime you have to power off during an install that's going to be a serious problem...

I don't think there is anything we can help you with here, as this is now system error.... what I would recommend is try to cancel the install when you turn it back on and it says attempting to reinstall, see if there is a cancel option.

If there is I would cancel and then delete the update and download again, something went wrong with your download and the file is corrupt...

But before you do anything call the tech support line and see what they say before you try anything that people recommend here in the forums.. They might have something you can do to by pass the install so you can delete it and download a fresh one. GOOD LUCK! hope this helped.

Thanks Crazyglue....yeah as it was downloading I switched to watch a little Family Guy and when I went back it had the error and now I can do nothing. I was so mad I had a combat high appear over my had as I screamed =(

No i think he might of posted at the same time as you. But its ok. Good luck with your PS3(goes to his ps3 and copies his MGS4 saves to external HDD and other saves before updating)

I should have thought about copying my save files but you just never think about this happening to you. Hopefully when I get home in about 3 hours tech support can make some good things happen for me. I have 1 playthrough of MGS4 on my 2nd, in season 2011 in MLB 08 RTTS....beat multiple game..although I haven't picked up GTA4 since MGS4 came out. COD4 rankings /sigh my FFXI galka multiple 75s...hopefully this dont make me lose everything.

sony would have to sort it out, they would probably get your gamesaves out if you send it to them, i have had to turn my ps3 of by the back but not during update so it is ok.

omg just completed mgs4 about 3mins ago all i can say is OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OH MY GOD!!
