PC will never become what you say because there will never be enough hardcore people to upgrade their PCs constantly. In the next 10 years, I wouldn't be surprised if people are still buying pre-made Dells.

Hellangelzx PC will never become what you say because there will never be enough hardcore people to upgrade their PCs constantly. In the next 10 years, I wouldn't be surprised if people are still buying pre-made Dells. pc's are getting cheaper year on year and for better hardware too. For example, I got my core 2 quad core $499 about a year after they came out, the i7 920 is $359 a year after release, that's better hardware for 25% less cost. As cpu's and gpu's progress ( smaller die size) they also get cheaper to produce, so they become cheaper for the consumers, and more profitable for the makers. The bext card from ATI cost $399 U.S, the previous best card which was by nvidia cost $499..., all hardware is getting about 20% cheaper each year as well as improving, i bought a 1500gig (1.5tb) HDD a week ago for $150....it is already $130. Only idiots buy dell, they are overpriced crap For $1200 you could build the best possible gaming pc money can buy ( of course you could always add another 2 monitors and 12 more gig of ram and 2 or 3 more gpu's), but the best quad core, best single gpu, 6 gig of really fast ddr3 ram, a 24" or 30" screen for $1200, 2 years ago that would have cost double

dchalfont thedisagreefairy lol apparently no one cares what pc's can do except for a few of u diehards...sorry :) I'm not sure what you mean by no one, because every time there is a clip posted of a new pc game, people say "wow the console's really are getting outdated fast". There are more pc exclusives every year than all of the console's and handheld's combined- fact. There are more pc gamers than console gamers- fact. Your bias is unbelievable, I have owned console's all my life, every single nintendo console and handheld, a ps2, and an x-box but this generation fell flat, pc's had surpased the potential before the console's were even released, i saw no reason to restrict myself and downgrade. I'm not a "pc elitist", i just have a pc as well so i know which is better. lol at u talking about "my bias" when u say "this generation fell flat, pc's had surpased the potential before the console's were even released, i saw no reason to restrict myself and downgrade" and then u go on to say "I'm not a pc elitist" all i could say is wow at the most hypocritical thing ive heard this week. its a good thing u didnt downgrade ur expectations to get a console for games like Uncharted 2, Demon Souls, and LittleBigPlanet. From the reviews and opinions of everyone who played them, they're horrible. /sarcasm and out of curiosity, what "people" say consoles are on the way out and outdated when they see pc game clips besides the few of u diehards that are left? any links? any mainstream game media outlets?

i guess im disappointed that we cant have both. 1080p and 60fps. its either one or the other. when you have limitations developers have to pick and choose what is best for their IP.

Ok, well I thought this thread had a chance at getting back on track, but we're still at the tiresome debate of PCs vs. consoles.
