Status: online 		OK, So this is a micro rant of something that really pisses me off. I stream my 10 gigs of music from my computer to both the 360 and the PS3. Now I have to say I prefer the PS3 for it's sound quality and the fact that it auto switches my receiver into 2.1 mode while listening to music. Plus you can rewind and FF through songs. (Which should be a mandatory option in all players in 2008) lol.  However the PS3 sucks ass because I can not browse my other songs while listening to a song, you have to stop the song to select another song. You cant browse the PSN or anything like that while listening to music either.

So on to the 360 I prefer the layout and everything, but when I select music I have to physically turn off the Center and Surround speakers or else it sounds horrible because it stays in 5.1. The best thing is I can search for other songs while playing one at the same time, or search the marketplace for demos, movies etc... But seriously how can the player have no FF/Rewind on it? Such a pain in the ass sometimes.

So Quick overview for those that wont read above:

PS3 Audio Player Pros:
-Sound Quality
-Auto switch to 2.1 mode on receiver
-Planetary Backdrop is teh hawtness

PS3 Audio Player Cons:
-Cannot search for another song without stopping the current song.
-Seems to always put songs in Alphabetical order, instead of album order.

360 Audio Player Pros:
-Can search for Song while playing current song.
-Better Interface (IMO)
-More stuff to do like search the marketplace while listening to music.

360 Audio Player Cons:
-No Auto switch from 5.1 while listening to music, Must manually turn off surround and Center speaker.
-Can't FF/Rewind songs.
-No Planetary Background.

Anyone else notice these problems or is it just me...?

Status: online 		Your able to search for another song while playing one.  Just press the ps button and it will bring to back to the xmb and search through your songs.

Status: offline 		You can browse other songs while listening to something, hit the PS button and do so.  Also as far as #2 is concerned, I don't know what you use for streaming but for my MP3s stored on the HD I can group it according to a variety of settings.

And for the Streaming from WMP11 it's sorted by All Music, Genre, All Artists, Contributing Artists, Album Artists, Composers, Albums, Ratings, Playlists, and Folders.

Status: offline 		so syko.. you cant hit the ps button, to get back to the xmb while the music is playing, and you cant go through your music again?  I know you can browse through your movies and things, and go on the internet, but yeah, once you launch into psn store, i think the music cuts out. 

On another note, my cousin has a lot of his music as downloads from the internet. I believe he can play music through the usb connection though, but going through the music via the media center is a huggggeee hassle, but maybe its because his music is pretty disorganized.  IT just takes forever to manuever though the media center, sometimes taking up to 30 seconds to recognize that you moved.  They both have positives and negatives i guess.

I do like the fact that when searching through my ps3 for music that is on my computer, I can copy it to the ps3's hardrive directly.

thats one thing that i just dont understand with people.. i know we are all gamers and all... but do people spend 400 dollars and up on something that just plays games???  I just dont understand it.  I wanted a home media center.  Movies, music, picture, connectivity to my networked computers.. all that stuff.  Now what the 360 has that i want, is the media center/tv cable connectivity, that would be sweet.

And your songs can be ordered by album. I think it happens when you have it by artist arrangement. I'm unsure since I have it all lumpted into one genre.

Is there a way to have all the music added on to the playlist without adding songs one by one?

Status: offline 		Actually, when streaming, i can a ****load of ways to search through my music, since is pretty organized due to itunes.  By artist, album title, genre, its pretty intuitive.

Oh and another thing i like, is when using folding at home, you can play music, and when you do, it searches by music type, easy listening, upbeat, theres like 5 categories, and it really works, it was pretty crazy.

Yeah when you add a song to a playlist, hit triangle for the options and select "Add All". Triangle and Square rule the XMB.

TVersity isn't as seamless as the Media Extender is on 360 but it does the trick, also you can still copy streaming videos over the same way you do for music.

Ya it just seems to put them in Alphabetical order when I sort by album. My 360 doesn't do that...It annoys me when my favorite albums play on a random type setting. 40oz to Freedom was meant to be listened to Front to Back in the order Brad intended. IMO.
