I've read a few topics in here that touched on some of the questions I had, but didn't think it'd be cool to hyjack another person's thread. Anyhow, I'm just a gamer, been playing for almost twenty years now, starting back in 1990. I'm not a fan of any one system, just a fan of good games that fit my style. A 360 and a PSP are the two systems that have been on my mind to pick up within the last year. I've researched around info on the X-Box 360, but the constant word floating around about how 360 RRoD all the time has left me uncertain whether I want to invest in one. There are several games I'd like to check out games like Lost Odyssey, Infinate Undiscovery, Viking Battle for Asgard, Golden Axe: Beast Rider, Armored Core 4, Soul Caliber 4, Dead or Alive 4, Street Fighter 4, Final Fantasy XIII, Force Unleashed, Overlord and Gears of War. I know that half of those are on PS3 too, but the difference in console price right now, plus some 360 and original X-box Star Wars exclusives has me looking toward Microsoft. (And I don't need to hear/read again that PS3 has MGS4 exclusive, and it's so great. I loved Metal Gear Solid, it was an excellent game and the remake "Twin Snakes" on Gamecube perfected it for me. I've tried MGS2 and MGS3 and watched my cousin play through MGS4, and while they have there shiney points, none of them honestly hooked me. I'm content with just Twin Snakes.) Back to my topic, many of the news reports I've come across about the workings and failings of the 360 seemed too impersonal, and I wouldn't trust a saleman in a gaming/electronics store to give you all the bad with the good. So I looked to asking co-workers about their 360's. One thing that has interested me, that I've picked up, was even though people may of been on their 2nd, 3rd, 4th or better 360, the fact remains they kept going back to the system, either outright buying another 360, or having it replaced via warrenty. To me this has been saying, even though the 360 may have it's faults now and then, the gaming experiance, the fun has to be something pretty great. Yes? No? Why so? The other question that's been on my mind, has to do with memory. I know I'd want to pick up a model with a hard drive, I own Star Wars: KotOR and would like to pick up a few more original X-Box games and as I understand it, that won't work on the Acrade model, you need at least a Pro model. I've checked the backs of various games in the store, and they range from just a few KB to save your game all the way up to a couple GB for some newer titles. So I've been curious, considing the list of games above that I'd like to get into, and word from some co-workers, the 20GB Pro should be plenty... but now theres word of this new 60 GB which sounds like a good deal, but would you even need that space? I'm not likely to download movies, I'd just wanna play some games, run them with acceptable load times, probably download some retro games or download something like HD Street Fighter II which I heard was on Live, and maybe have a few wallpapers. So, how much space on your hard drive is used just by game saves, downloaded games and trailers? Also, this Jasper chipset I keep hearing about, what's it about, or could anyone provide a link to where I can read up on it. Please -n- thanks. J_PastTime
