I feel that im comfortable admitting this to you all because im ready to stop but i need the support of you guys and girls. Ive been taking oxycotin to help with all the pains within my body but im starting to find it way too pleasurable, and i want to stop before i have the same fate and Heith Ledger. Do you guys and girls have any suggestions that youve helped overcome you addictions, big or small?

Oxycotin is one of the most addictive opioid drugs there is. If you take it for a while and then you stop you actually go through withdrawal. Sometimes with flu-like symtoms, muscle aches...etc.

What you should do is make fun of all other people that do drugs and abuse them and talk **** about them while you secretly down a bottle of OC every two days at work.  Hell, who knows, maybe you can get your own hypocritical conservative talk show and get rich fooling the people.  (of course you can check yourself into treatment after your first cheque)

Don't stop...you could be as successful an Oxycontin user as this fat pryck.

Auto, you should talk to your doctor as soon as possible, and let him/her know what is up.
See if he'll prescribe you some Suboxone (Suboxins). They will really help to detox your body, and help with the pain. They are not addictive what so ever. Also, stay away from anyone who can make it easier for you to get your hands on oc's.

Lots of luck to you bro.

By the way, I'm not addicted to anything other than sex, but one of my closest friends was addicted to oc's and asked for my help. With a little support, and determination (and suboxins lol) you'll get through this. Also, try exercising regularly, It'll help to encourage yourself.

Not too sure what it is, but if you are planning on getting off it, you can't 'just stop' try taking does less and less often till you are ready for a complete stop.

Heh, while funny, not actually helpful. I'd certainly go with the talk to your doctor/let off easy type methods. Suddenly quitting, while occasionally effective, can cause a harder relapse and or physical side effects. The most important thing is that you realized the problem and want to fix it... some don't...

All I can say is, cold turkey.  That's what i've always done.  Granted, it's never to quit completely.  I'll stop drinking for a week or two whenever I start to feel the urge to drink every night, and then i'll start back up again.  As for cigarettes... they are too damn pleasurable for me to even care about quitting.

I'd rather get cancer at 65 and die semi quickly than becoming senile at 70 and live like that until 90.

you and i have dicissed the injuries that i went through.i had a pharmacey in my cupboard.i was on what you are on and more.one day i woke up and couldn't remember what i was suppose to take.later that day i putt all of iot in a garbage bag and went to the drug store so they could dispose of them.they had a fit!and couldn't believe i was on all that or even had a that with me.
while i dont think this is a good sugfestion(i had bad withdrawls for some time) it was how i did it.
i would suggest the best thing you could do is go and talk to your doctor and tell him.her what your concerns are and that you would like to stop this.that would be the best place for you to start as none of us are doctors and dont have the problems medically that yoiu have or are going through.
see your doctor first and then he can better guide you as to what to do next.
that would be the best place to start my freind.

^^^^ this hypocritical ass is a confirmed oc abuser, yet bashes "drug users" and the use of medicinal marijuana on a daily basis.  He's a 14 million dollar a year guy too.  Look it up.
