great atmosphere, interesting story, cool graphics, but...gameplay just doesnt interest me....I want that to change cause all the other elements to this game are looking awesome...but gameplay just isnt compelling IMO. Point a light and shoot....I thought this game was gonna be more than that...

Until the game is released/A demo comes out, I'm not watching anything about this. I want this game to be a surprise for me plus after witnessing the Too Human fiasco, their is no such thing as being too careful.

Thats like saying: "After witnessing the Haze fiasco, I will save my opinion on God of War III till its released, there is no such thing as being too careful." What the hell do you say with this? Really, nonsense. This game looks like to be the thriller/action game of 2010 and a great addition to the library of games and genres for the 360. I am really looking forward to playing Alan Wake!

So now we know it's a standard survival horror... Why is it being compared to Heavy Rain? OMGzzz I WANT 2 C SUM GAMEPLAISS 4 HEVy RAIN WER U SHOOT EVIL MONSTRZ IN TEH HED!!111 What people mean by "gameplay" is shooting stuff, basically. Alan Wake seems like it will be a solid addition to its genre, without really contributing much unique to it. The story will make or break it. And @Mart - I never preorder games, so I always have a chance to check reviews before buying anything. I think the main point here is that being a long time in development does not guarantee an excellent game (if anything, it means it's more likely to be crap, but I don't think that's the case here).

Who compared it to Heavy Rain? I think that its often mentioned because they're both in the less filled 'thriller' genre, which doesn't have so much games compared to the high amount of shooter games for example... Contributing much unique to it? So which game is unique these days? All genres have about been covered. Was KZ2 unique? Nope. Was Uncharted 2 unique? Nope. The latest one was just a very well executed story. So with each game its about the same these days: the story will make or break it. Its not just with Alan Wake. And then yet again, you have seen this little from a game, and we won't know what unique it can or will add till we've seen the reviews of the full version I guess. Long time in development being a crap game? I see. So GT5 must be utterly sh!t I guess. For real, comparing it with one game that was long in development, like Too Human remains stupid, even after your post. And yes, checken reviews is good, that isn't a point of discussion, is it?

Kigmal Polluted Still looks incredibly uninteresting to me. Next time, don't click on any Alan Wake threads, dumbass. I was kind of wondering if perhaps it had improved or maybe if the new footage would be a little more interesting than the old footage. What is it about you that makes you think it's somehow cool or fun to just be such a ****ing prick all the time? Like in what way is that fun? What do you hope to gain from treating strangers over the internet like ****? Do you get some sort of personal amusement or a sense of accomplishment from that? You gotta be really ****ing sick in the head, dude. You got some kind of personality disorder or something going on there.

Some people just cant take others opinion to well when it doesn't agree with them. While alot of people are getting hyped about Splinter Cell, Im neutral. It looks like a cool game which I will probably pick up day 1 but from what I've seen it hasn't sold me completely.

For real, comparing it with one game that was long in development, like Too Human remains stupid, even after your post. And yes, checken reviews is good, that isn't a point of discussion, is it? Sorry Mart didn't mean to sound agressive. if anything, it means it's more likely to be crap, but I don't think that's the case here Games with protracted development cycles only take so long to come out because there are problems or issues with development. In Alan Wake's case, it's because it was created for PC initially and was designed to take advantage of all 4 cores of the CPU. Then it became exclusive to 360, they started to change its design from open world to being more linear (but still free-roaming). It hasn't taken a long time because it's going to have amazing graphics or gameplay the likes of which we've never seen. I agree about the uniqueness thing, to a certain extent. I feel as though games have stagnated a bit, though, and we need that extra push to get it to the next level. Alan Wake hasn't shown that but you're right - it could all change when we see more gameplay. And fanboys always seem to bring up Alan Wake in Heavy Rain articles... or at least that's my recollection.
