It was delayed for rumored PS3-exclusive content, correct? I'm guessing Trophies and more episodes, but I really want them to clean up the bugs. The PS3 version could very well be the definitive version.

Who's willing to shell out $60 for some extra content and possible fixes? I really want this one. There's no good Survival Horror games!

I don't know these are good survival horror games but Siren and Silent Hill are coming soon.

By the time it comes out for PS3 we should have Siren, Deadspace and maybe RE: 5. Not that I don't want to see improvements to, but I think they're missing their window of opportunity here.

Edit: @Korosuke: Right, Silent Hill too.

It wasn't delayed FOR content. The content is just compensation for delay

I'd pass on Alone in the Dark, to be honest, for the reasons mentioned above.

i was hoping it would be a great game but from what the reviewers say the controls will drive you nuts, the hit detection is way off and there's that seemingly endless grind level near the end that has no purpose but to make the game seem longer. :(

i doubt they can fix that much for the PS3 version, though i hope they could.
looks like it's going to be a rental for me.

Alone in the Dark isn't the kind of game I'd waste money on, either... I'm happy to wait for Resi 5 and Silent Hill 5, to be honest. They'll be a load better, and they won't have that stupid Episode feature - it pissed me off to chat with friends about how I beat a really hard part, only for them to tell me "Oh, that part! It was too hard, so I just skipped over it!"... So yeah, my Mum bought me it on Day 1, and it got returned on Day 2. Swapped it at Gamestation for Ninja Gaiden 2 (for a tenner, no less). :D

But those are the same reasons why alot of survival horror games are scored low.. The reviews do nothing for me and I will still try it out when released for PS3. I don't need every survival horror game to play like RE4.

lol, did you even play it though before returning it?

i'm more excited for SH5 and Siren.
Resi has lost it's super creepy horror roots and the zombies aren't scary anymore :(

Alone in the Dark is not a movie game. There's a movie based on the game series, but that's about it... The film you're probably talking about, the 1982 one, has nothing to do with the Alone in the Dark series we're on about. They only share the same name...

And yeah, I did play it... But like I said, I got fed up of people telling me that they'd skipped past the bits I found difficult to get past... That's the biggest put off ever... I felt cheated. Anyway... Good thing zombies are a lot different in RE5 now, huh? xD

You know, Resident Evil is still Survival Horror. It's just not Scary anymore. It's still suspenseful, but not hairs-standing suspenseful; more like itchy-trigger-finger suspenseful. Silent Hill and Alone In The Dark still retain their atmospheric, creepy roots... But so far, Alone failed to go next-gen, apparently by being too next gen? Sounds like it was too creative and ended up drowning itself instead of perfecting it.

I really do look forward to Silent Hill: Homecoming. It's leading on PS3 eh? It and Dead Space should provide the scares.

Uwe Suck-Bolls ruined it apparently. I might give it a rent for teh lulz.

Fast-moving zombies are scarier than the slow guys in the right setting, like 28 Days Later (it's my favorite movie, I know they're not zombies, no need to say it, just an example of scary "infected"). But RE4 had it's scares, like at the beginning, and in the village... Those sections were not only adrenaline-pumping, but also quite frightening.

yea they can be scary in an open corn field with hundreds of them chasing you but it wont work for a small hospital and vice versa with the slow zombies....but as long as the zombies are scary the games worth getting

Yeah, for close-combat, the slower enemies really have a sense of dread that they give you.

Well, I'm really hoping for a port of Left 4 Dead, and I'm gonna get Dead Island when I get a 360, and Dead Rising. The PS3 has NO zombie games (no Oblivion doesn't count).

Meep you're a nice cat, but if you're going to talk smack about zombies I'll have to throw down motherf**ker. Zombies are bad ass. Period. End of story. Zombies are it man. And when the zombie apocalypse happens, you're on your own. ;-)
