i'm assuming you mean a satelite speaker system, you could probably get a satelite speaker package ( 5 high range speakers - not full range, + 1 subwoofer, and up to 100watt per speaker), which would come with a reciever/dvd player combined for around that price, i'm australian though so it's hard for me to recommend a system as the price various etc. Just look for a sony satallite speaker system, any component systems get exponentially more expensive, aka. A stand alone receiver ( amp+tuner) and a floor standing set of speakers, and you have to buy the cd/dvd/blu ray player separate, My advice, which you probably couldn't care less about, but here it is: get a stand alone receiver, the cheapest you can buy with around 100watt per channel, 5.1channel, and then look for a good deal on some speakers, even ex floor stock, you'll get a much better system and most new receivers should have hdmi/optical out, so they will last better than a satellite system which may not even have optical out, just the rca plugs. A little bit more money always gets you a much better settup
