I've been wondering, I haven't really heard many casuals talking about LBP, mainstream gamers seem to have a vague idea of what it is, but has anyone here heard about any casuals talking about LBP?
Edit: Mods can you move this to the LBP section, sorry.

No. Honestly unless the game has heavy marketing i think it'll bomb. Casuals aren't retarded though if it doesn't sell its because they didn't want it not because it was a bad game/they are stupid/they can't appreciate games/etc.

I do hope it sells though. if it does have heavy marketing I think it'll end up like Viva Pinata sales wise.

That's what I was thinking as well, I thought it will be a good game which the hardcores will buy, and a few mainstream gamers will buy as well, I hope it sells, but as of right now I don't see it breaking 1.5 million.

1-1.5 million for a game isn't a bomb. If it sells that I'd be quite happy. It doesn't matter how it sells though, since this game is based on user generated content it doesn't need a sequel. Day one for me though.

I'll probably buy it day 1 as well, but 1.5 million is my most generous estimate.

Cauals don't know about upcoming game releases. Hence the name 'casual.'

I think it needs some heavy marketing to reach out to the casuals.

So do I, but I don't think Sony is doing that quite yet.

I beg to differ... My family know about Nintendo releases through the power of advertising

Not really..  is an estimate for the sake of estimating something..  It's not like my life depends on LBP sales...

question: Are you saying that LBP will sell less than MGS4???

Yeah, but casuals know a few game releases such as Brawl, Halo 3, GTA 4, and Rockband.

If you switch the word "casual" with "retard" your guys statements still make sense. Hence I think you all are acting like elitist ****s. People will buy the game if they are interested in it. Games like Okami bombed because people weren't interested in it.
