Since HD has really started to run I've found myself a bit of a graphics whore. Now I'm not enjoying my classics as much because of the visual disparity anyone else getting like this?

I love a good looking game but that won't stop me from enjoying a good playing game with mediocre graphics. I am playing Indigo prophecy and 24 the game right now so i guess i'm not a graphics whore

I find it an absolute necessity for a game to look good in this day and age. I believe graphics and gameplay
should go hand in hand and none without the other. Games must both play well and look good,or else I consider it
failure to capitalize on potential.

Classics are different for me. I still enjoy them as much.

I was playing wild arms and battle arena toshindin and its driving me nuts lookin at them. I'm ashamed trust me.

Funny thing is SOTN doesn't have this effect and Shadow of the Colossus either

I still like the classics (Games from the 8 bit up to the PS2)...as long as I'm using an SDTV instead of an HDTV. The reason? Older graphics sucks when you're using an HDTV.

That also depends on your HDTV's SD scaler all HDTVs have them and all ARE NOT created equal. I'm a consumer electronics trainer i've come across that before.

Not so much, but it would make a difference if I was buying a system. I don't really care if it is only a small difference, but I think Blu-ray will make a big difference.

Not really. Most next gen games look great anyways so I'm not really that nit picky when it comes to graphics. Art direction and gameplay is all that really matters to me.

Nah..I can play games with now-sub-par graphics.
Heck, I'm willing to play FFVII and VIII once I have some real time off! Both will be more or less first run-throughs, too..so its not like I consider them timeless classics.......just yet =p

Im about to spend a obscene amount of money on a lazer tech hdtv depending on how it looks when it hits the market, which is suppose to be Q3 2008.
I suppose that makes me some kind of whore.
I cant even bring myself to play some older games due to the dated graphics.
I doubt I would of been able to say that if the current graphics of games looked like they do now back then and now was the future...

But as pretty as games are GamePlay is still the most important thing to be concerned about.

As far as movies go I still find myself satisfied with DVD but I do prefer Blu-Ray HD format over the latter.
As far as TV goes I cant bring myself to watch non HD programming too often either.

Some games just haven't aged well and I do find the graphics distracting.

A lot of older games still look pretty good, though, imo. I just spent the lasy hour playing Banjo-Kazooie on my laptop and it looks pretty good to me. It certainly wasn't at all distracting anyway. I do have a hard time playing Goldeneye now because the graphics are so dated it's hard to tell a bad guy from a wall sometimes.

So am I a whore? Sometimes.

I got a top of the line hdtv a new kick ass surround sound yet im not a graphics Whore :). I want good gameplay over graphics. I wont play a game with bad graphics though.
