Auto Duplicate Detecter problem when submitting stories - Jun.-9th-2008 21:32:36

The auto-duplicate detector (matches the url for a duplicate) is good for finding out if a story is a duplicate but it hit a snag with me. I'm referring to this story http://www.n4g.com/NewsPending-155524.aspx I was going to link it directly to the gallery of the official website but another story had already used that website ---> http://www.n4g.com/News-125929.aspx showing older screenshots. N4G shouldn't completely disallow you to submit a story that has the same url but rather kinda just warn you that the url has already been used but will still allow you to create it.

Some people on this site are always trying to find ways around this to post duplicate stories that support their system of choice.  Imagine if you removed the one thing holding them back.  Bad idea.  Every other rule that is "suggested" and not enforced is broken a lot (multiple accounts being one of them), so why would this be different?  <--- rhetorical question, it wouldn't be different.

Yes, for instance linking to page two, three or four on a review... In other words: I agree with Dr Pepper.
