Which games have wowed you with shocking plot twists?

I would say Halo:CE... but I cant be bothered to argue on that, so I'll say....

Bioshock - so many twists... finding out you are andrew ryans son, finding out atlas is fontaine - finding out atlas has been controlling your mind for the whole beginning of the game...just amazing.

That part where you "Switched Sides" was so unpredictable.

Really: Aeris dieing in FF7 :\ cliche I know. But still, who realistically saw THAT coming the first time through.

Realising what the actual purpose of the halo is in Halo:CE - and the reveal of the flood, is just as warranted an addition to this thread as the uncharted twist.

crackdown of all games had a pretty surprising plot twist.

I cant remember any really good plot twist but the most recent one would be mgs4...where Niaomi was with Liquid or w.e his name his... I was like ``Oh no`

Uncharted definately...although theres some nice turning points in Half-Life 2 and the episodes as well

Hmmm. I would say System Shock 2 when you enter the room with the corpse who is supposedly your radio contact only to find out it was Shodan the whole time.

Well... The original Metroid. In the rough words of some stupidly sexist moron, "it was a massive shock to find out that the dude you had been playing as throughout the entire game and had been owning bosses with was, in fact, a woman".

That was a twist to be reckoned with.

Aside from that...? The most amazing cutscene on the face of the planet - FFVII, when Aerith dies. Like DrPirate said, it wasn't even remotely expected when you first played through the game. It was devastating, as well, 'cause I had used her an awful lot up to that point.

Icewake, is that really you in those photos?

To answer the question, I'd have to say I was blown away by Bioshock's twist.

I could tell the Uncharted twist was coming but it doesn't make the game any less enjoyable. It's probably the game this gen I've played the most.
