AMAZING!!!

Even though the demo is EXTREMELY short, it really is a solid game and I'm hooked.
Although they've changed the look it's more inviting than previous titles and still(or maybe more) addictive.
Also the console controls are excellent, I was hoping they would have incorporated mouse and keyboard support, but you really don't need it at all.
I'll be locked away for hours with this one.

Grade A

AHHHHHh! I almost created a dupe thread b/c of you!! I was seriously typing up a Civ Rev thread just a moment ago.

I just finished the demo and I couldn't agree more - I'm so happy!  It really is great, the controls are really straightforward, the look and feel is just...well it's like Civ+awesomeness.

I was a bit confused about construction of wonders though - I noticed I could begin the construction of a wonder already underway in another city. ???

Look people,it makes me angry that everyone has ignored my Civilization comments since early this morning.
Indeed,it is truly great and just keeps on getting better.Right now,I don't know whom I will choose first first when I get the game.
Alexander probably.Aside from that, has anyone noticed the poor quality of the cut-scenes in the demo?

Noticed that as well, but I'm not sure if it automatically cancels when it's built in the other cities. Hopefully a bug they catch before release.
I'm about to attempt playing it online now. I've never been a fan of Civ online, since I don't think I'm good enough , but it never hurts to try.

The cut scenes need tweaking, and the fog of war confused me for a bit (I kept thinking it was water).

I played as Rome, though I think next I'll try Ghandi (the resource perk sounds interesting).

lol, M_P, the demo was released in yesterday's update.

edit: Odion, try not to be a tool.   Obviously if I'm this excited about Civ Rev I'm a huge Civ fan - and you know, they even run on macs!!

Check again.New releases. For the US Store. It was a bit late, but you should find it now.
I think they compressed the cut-scenes a lot to reduce the size of the demo.
Still, the play time was gargantuan and it's easily one of the best demos ever released alongside RaceDriver Grid.
Sid Meier is a genius. It should come as no surprise that I rule as a despot and will avoid Ghandi like the plague.
Now,they only need to bring new characters later as add-ons.Tyrants I hope.

I agree, the fog of war confused me too.  I thought I started on an island, only to find out some 1000 game years later that I was on the 1 and only continent with 4 other civs.  Doh!  Oh well, it only delayed the inevitable of me crushing their bones into the ground.  Civ Revolution is going to be amazing, however I still think Civ 3 and Civ 4 for PC are better.  But I'd rather sit on my couch and play it on a console then at a desk on my laptop.  July 8 can't come soon enough!

except when you play on one of Civs real modes and a single match will take you 100 hours to beat

So how is it less comfy then?? Same rules apply, save and come back to it later. When I play on PC I save, I don't drink red bull and pee myself through a 100 hour game.

i have Civ on my Mac but i really hate gaming on it. that's why i prefer console gaming. it's more comfy and i can kick back and enjoy it. and hiving it blasting out of my HDTV & 5.1 is just sweetness.
i've never understood how people could sit on a computer desk with their face a foot away from a screen and actually like it. that's not my type of gaming.

looks like i'll actually get into Civ real well once it's released
