Anyone remember Colony Wars for the PS1? Is there going to be another one ever? Those games kicked so much ass then they just dissappeared.

I remember Sony purchasing Psygnosis (developers of Colony Wars) and made it into Sony Studio Liverpool. Right now they're working on Wipeout HD (Downloadable) and the full entry Wipeout (Retail, with use of the modified MotorStorm engine). I would say it's possible since I do believe Sony owns the IP if I'm not mistaken. But the team behind it has their hands full right now.

Just hope that Colony Wars doesn't go the same way as Parasite Eve 3... I can't believe that SE decided to quietly develop the game for MOBILE PHONES!!! What are they thinking...? While a spin-off of an FF game is fine to do it to, it isn't fine to do it to the main game of an IP...

As for the chances of making a Colony Wars 4, the verdict says "Never". Apparently, most of the developers for those games have since retired with the remnants working for Warthog now. That's according to another forum, so I don't know if it's entirely true... But either way, I guess you shouldn't hold your breath.

Great series for console but at the time I was playing the Wing Commander, Privateer and Freespace series on PC which make Colony Wars pretty mediocre in comparison

The Colony Wars games were quite challenging. I remember them feeling so epic, so monumental, even in the demos. Like, this shrouding of mystery.

I'm getting heavy in nostalgia. God, the PSX felt literally like a different realm back them. Sony sure came a long way, and turned the best console into, well, the best console still.

Freespace FTW! I think they released one of them as freeware a while back. Those games ruled. Lol. Anyway, glad to see some people remember Colony Wars. Let's hope we see a revival some day.

I played Freespace 2. I was rad. The best back-of-the-box i have ever seen.

I thought colony wars was very attractive but very boring and repetitive.
