I have a question about the contributor contest.

Does the score you get from Approving/Reporting stories count toward the contest? Or is it just Submission score?

Because I want to win, badly. But my CRank's only 11

You know, when I was a youngin'...Just a year ago I unwittingly made it into the top ten with a CRank of 10. It's amazing to me how much the median score required to place in the top ten has increased in just the past 6 months.

You can make it into the top 10 with a CRank of 10. That is about 40000 points for the month.

I agree, but what I'm marveling at is how the median score has risen dramatically.

The main thing is there are A LOT more contributors than there used to be. I don't know if others have realized this. A lot of websites I used to use I don't even bother going to anymore.

You still have a shot.  A few months ago, I was able to nab the 10th spot and I was in a similar situation as yourself.  I had a CRank of about 11, and hadn't really been trying the first 2 weeks.  I realized I was close, and posted tons of stories.  Moral of the story, My CRank went up to 17, and I was able to get the 10th spot for the month.  It really just depends how dedicated the top 10 want to be each month.  The last 2 months have been pretty competitive though.

If I didn't have a site to run or sites to write for, I'd put all my work into this. I just love seeing points going up :D

Mid-May I think it was, I decided to start contributing. I only wanted to increase my approval points, but it got addicting over the summer. I'm slowing down now that the summer's over and I've gotten past the CRank 20 mark because submitting gets really boring after awhile.

 

Ya there seems to be about 15 people now that can easily get in the top ten when they want. It just seems to be 11 or 12 people every month that really hit it hard and try for the top 10. 30,000 seems to be enough but it gets a little higher every month...

To bad we are all competing for the 4-10 spots, since Bloodmask, Cyrus and Harry usually easily lock up the top 3 spots.

In most cases it is fine. Quite a few translated Game Reactor previews have been approved despite
the less than stellar translation.

Yes, use the translation, I think it is sufficient - most translated content misses a few words here and there at the very least!

started a site called V4vg.com and posted a killzone 2 preview which I had gotten my hands on, now for dome reason an Honest opinion is no longer valid in gaming these days and since I had taken up a few minor nuisances with the game my site has gotten banned from submitting news thinking I am an Xbox lover or some retarded contraption. I still have another level of Killzone 2 that is terrific in nature and wanted to share it with the community at large and now since my site has been banned I cannot do so anymore.Its an honest appeal to all high and mighty contributors to look into the site and see whether I am actually trying to be biased or being plain honest.

Guys this is my job and you guys are going to any lengths to kick me out of it. If you do have any christmas sprit in you have the heart to unblock the site.I have worked really hard to come where I am, for am not as lucky and deserving as most of you out there. Please I request dont kill the gamer inside me...thats all I can do...

the past few days i've been getting into the contributing portion of n4g and submitting pieces that seem truly interesting and not simply out for website hits or to incite arguments

im hoping to stick to it for a while and help bring some class back to this site
