if you die find the spot where you died and youll reclaim your soul and the souls youve lost but if you die again, guess what? no souls.
 
i can kill a few demons and go back to nexus if i find the sword stuck in stone but what i cant figure out is how to use the cloak spell ive learned and memorized.
i got some advice from a n4g guy and he said check the spells requirements but i have the spell already so im assuming i must raise my intelligence or faith level to use it.

No you need what called a catalyst. Essentially a magic wand. I have no idea where I got it but that what you need to do spells. I havent figured out how to do miracles yet. F*&)ing wasted 5000 souls!

What I do is After i beat the Phalanx. I return to the nexus upgrade using whatever souls I have then I return to the castle. Next I go about beating everyone down accumulating a ton of Souls then i die in a spot that isnt difficult to return to. You cannot die again or this doesnt work. Next i rampage through all the spots the enemies return to then go and get my soul so the old souls are added to my current soul count. Its tedious as hell but its been paying of for me I can take a full blown breath from the red dragon. I basically do a lap,Die, repeat and so on.  Eventually you can get to the point where you can kill the Red Kinght pretty easy. He's worth 2000 plus so thats always good.
Again make sure you dont die in a place thats hard to get to. Dont run if you dont have to. Fight.

so after killing the red knight i can go back to the nexus with my souls?

You can, but you need to beat the 1-1 boss first. This will let you use your souls to level up (increase your stats) by talking to the Maiden in Black.

Ok this is for everyone that wants to find a Catalyst to do magic. Hopefully it would be the same for you guys too. Its in the 3rd world (the prision one) just as you get in kill the serpent thing find the keys in the cell area and go back to the last cell after you get out of the room and you should find it there. Terible instructions i know but you should be able to find it.

Meep.  One tip:

You know the souls you can pick up off fallen characters?  You can use them to obtain additional souls.

Don't use these until you need them.  You don't lose your items when you die, so these are essentially souls that will not be lost.  Also, if you've abandoned hope, and there is a merchant near-by, spend all your souls.  Better to get, and keep, some items, than to keep, and lose, all your souls.

Also, be sure to read the little booklet that comes with the game.  I don't mean the strategy guide, just the regular book that every version comes with.


I NEED HELP:

I can't beat the wormy squirmy boss (you'll know it when you see it).  I've beat him 3 or 4 times while helping other players, but when I finally get my body and find some phantoms to help me, I do choke big time and walk off the edge of a cliff or something...  Just like all the other idiots.  :)

Here is a little tip for beating the Red Eyes.  This is after you have that door open to the stairs to the left of the main entrance.  Kill everyone within that stair case (leave the two barrels who are next to each other DON'T BREAK THEM), and to the left of the stair case (where that death pit is), go on top of the wall with the catapaults and kill all whom are up their, and then apporoach the red eye but don't engage him.  Draw him all the way to the stair case and go past the two barrels that are next to each other in the middle of the walk way, and go a little bit farther on the next walk (the one with the railing) stand there and wait for the red eye to get to the barrels... he will do one of two things, either attack the barrel to get by it, or if you do it right he will try to attack you but step over the side and fall all the way to the bottom of the steps and die.  Then again some times he doesn't die on the first fall so draw him back up and get back behind him and repeat until he is dead.   If that doesn't work or is too hard, try and draw him all the way down the stairs and bring him to the death pit that is next to the stairs on the outside, and just walk around the pit always keeping him on the other side, and wait for him to try and attack you and he should fall, you'll get the 2000 souls but not the 3 grasses. Keep doing that while killing everyone before crossing the bridge, and you should get plenty of souls.  But it will take many, many tries.  Good luck and what not.


Now its my turn to plead for help.  I made it to the Tower Knight again (the first time I tried to fell him solo, but that wasn't happening) but I will be waiting in front of the boss fog with my blue stone out tomorrow, looking for a team up.  I will let this thread know what time tomorrow, if anyone that can help and is able to join me (not sure how many servers there are) it would be welcomed thanks.

If you have a magic attack like soul arrow you can just hide up the stairs and shoot down on tower knight for an easy kill.

thanks, yeah, i started all over again with a Soldier class but i just beat the boss.

anyone know where to go from here? or where to start soul whoring? i leveled up and upgraded my sword, shield and spear.
i want to level up some more since it took me 5 hours to beat the 1st stage/boss, lol

The Giant Goblin in 5-2 is where I am stuck at right now, sucker keeps bashing the crap out of me.

 I did the first level a few times farming souls until I was strong enough after that I think I farmed the first few enemy's in 4-1 they gave good souls until I could do the entire level and reach the reaper.

Don't feel bad lol your not alone. It took me 17 tries to bring down the Tower Knight in chapter 1-2. And lvl 4-1 is great for farming souls from the Undead.  You get around 380 souls a kill and there are about 15 mobs you can kill in under 10 min. Just go back and repeat.

My request for help: 

I'm mostly just looking for somewhere good to get lots of souls.

Where I am?  I've beat these bosses: 
The first one
The Tower Knight
The Armored Spider (it only took me two tries, that guy was too easy, or maybe I'm getting good haha)

Also I'm a Knight, so I'd somewhere where I can get souls easily using melee attacks. 

Something I was curious if anyone knew was if I kill the warrior NPCs that you meet sometimes do you get their gear?
 
I'm asking because I was thinking about killing the guy in the first world with the golden armor, a shield that looks like a kind of star, and a really cool long sword (you have to save his butt a couple of times).
 
Just want to know if i'll get his stuff for killing him.

i need help. I got a question about Ostrava. if he dies in the game and if i've not gotten the Mosauleum Key, what's gonna happen to me? Should I restart the game from the very beginning? And how would I know that Ostrava is already dead?

Well I used my phalanax <~~sp? and my spider one and it just gave me souls. I'm going to save the rest or just in case I need souls to buy something.
