I saw your post about how you don't eat Mc Donalds anymore.  You should read the fast food nation book.  That book really enforces what really goes on in making fast food.  The movie was just scratching the surface.  I don't normally read but I had to read it for a class, so that's why I read it.

I'd also like to add Afropunk and Zeitgeist to my list of beloved documentaries.
Great minds discuss ideas; average minds discuss events; small minds discuss people.

Thanks to everyone who has put in a suggestion for documentaries.
Hey meepmoopmeep, I just wanted to say that after watching Thunderbolts of The Gods, I saw a link for a documentary call Esoteric Agenda. I ended up watching it, and thought may be right up your taste.

Also, I'm making a list of all the documentaries that people are suggesting on the first post of this thread. Enjoy.

Super Size Me is great, along with the recent one about the Real Life Role-playing (forget the name but it was hilarious). I'm waiting for Last Cup: The Road to the World Series of Beer Pong to come out.

Also, the Caveh documentaries are pretty good, especially the Tripping with Caveh movie and the one about 9/11.

Second Skin is a pretty good gaming doc on WoW players.
Food Inc is another one good about the food industry.

Also Netflix has a great selection of Documentaries on for instant view.

Docomentaries are actually one of my favorite genres.  I like it better than action movies.

Have you seen "What the Bleep Do We Know!?"?

Same here my friend.

No. I haven't seen that. What is it about?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/What_the_Bleep_Do_We_Know!%3F

It's hard to explain what it is about.  It's really a science documentary that talks about how humans are all connected and stuff.

Hmmm...reminds me of this other documentary that I know

@ Odion

Man, thanks so much for recomending the documentary "The Cove". What an eye opener it was into Japans whaling practices. I always knew they were bad, but what they do in Taiji, Japan is just sickening.

Thanks again.

Out of Egypt:

It talks about how the current image of the Devil, the one with horns hoves etc, came about. It looks back at the very first religions and up until now how we gained this notion and image of the devil. Very interesting and gives a different insight into religion and how the "you and us" mentallity came about.

Guns, Germs and Steel:

It's a three part documentary looking at how certain humans i.e. white people, africans, people in the middle east etc have been more successful since the dawn of human beings.

It shows how Guns, germs and steel have shaped the world we live in and how people used it to their advantage. It looks at how the white Europeans ended up dominating the world and why Africa was left behind etc and why its still a third world country today.

Very interesting, lacked a bit of detail though.

Watched Exit Through the Gift Shop, and I definitely recommend it. Not as "heavy" as some other documentaries, so a good one if you're not in the mood for all the world's evils? :D
