Just a quick heads up, for those unsure about where to find a replacement battery for your controllers, there are a few retailers online selling replacements. The good news is, they're under 10 dollars, which effectively silences the critics of the rechargeable controller situation on the PS3 (mainly 360 fanboys).

FYI, I have looked around and it seems that brand comes up in most retailer links. I would imagine it's a safe replacement, even though it's not warranted by Sony.

you would need one in maybe 5 years or more I'd guess(after daily use), and at point, a button or toggle should be broken at that point, so you'll be buying a new controller, probably at the price of 29.99. No need to worry about batteries.

I heard that the DualShock 3's aren't batteries replaceable.

you never know what may happen; but in case it does, it's good to know that we can buy one for 6 bucks. That is as cheap as many regular batteries

To replace the battery on the DualShock 3, do you just unscrew the screws on the bottom of the controller, unplug the dead battery, plug the new one in, and put the screws back on?

Believe me, I've heard from many modders that putting a DualShock 3 back together is a nightmare. Opening it up is the easy part.

Haha, yeah isn't that the case for everything. I would assume the SixAxis would be a little more easier to put back together.

They pay the shipping and everything.
