Ever buy a game BASED ON THE TRAILER YOU SEEN of it?

I can honestly say that after seeing the trailers/Ad campaigns for MIRROR'S EDGE & PRINCE OF PERSIA that was enough to get me into GS to buy them. Both games nothing amazing as games but damn the visual appeal was enough to make me open my wallet. How about you?

Just from trailers, I think it was Cod4 or Star Wars Battlefront 2.
Wasn't really disappointed with either, but now I definitely follow games before buying them.

Dead space. I told myself, : hey this could make a nice bridge between RE4 and RE5. Turns out RE5 should have been "that" bridge, Dead space > RE5

gears of war. the commercial was so emotional and awesome. itwas a great game but went a whole other direction from the trailer. still love it though.

Most games I take interest in is due to either it being an already established franchise or because I look up information about it.

That Bioshock trailer was pretty cool. Though I really ended up getting it because of the massive amounts of critical acclaim.

Heck no
I am insanely thorough when it comes to buying games.
I almost always rent the game first (Lovefilm FTW) - Even if it means having to wait a long time, I didn't play get to play Resident Evil 5 until late May (but did end up buying it)
And am now waiting for Borderlands, even though part of me is saying "just buy it!" I wont....I wont
There are exceptions though...
For instance, Uncharted 2, Modern Warfare 2, Assassin's Creed 2, Left 4 Dead 2, these are all games I don't need to rent first, because I know I loved the first games for them, and expect high critical aclaim for the sequals.

I definitely remember having ZERO interest in Assassin's Creed until I saw a trailer with some in game footage about a week before it came out. My hype meter kind of went through the roof at that point and I bought it pretty close to release.
