This has been on my mind for awhile, but all of the GTA4 fanboy drivel being spouted back and forth between 360 fanboys and PS3 fanboys have really brought this issue to light -

Can there be a new "Report as Gamer Zone Violation" option when reporting a comment? I never know if I should report fanboy blabber in the Gamer Zone as Spam, or Off Topic, or what. A Gamer Zone Violation option would be best, I think.

Thoughts?

Well, the Open Zone was created for all that "fanboy blabber."

Reporting things like "GTA on the Xbox sux60 will play like crap. Play B3yond on Playstation" would defeat the purpose as it is allowed in the OZ.

Things that are not allowed in the OZ include racial remarks, sexist remarks, spam, extreme language, and disregard for other members of the site.

So unless something is completely out of hand (such as "Shut the f*** up b1tch. We all know you're a PShomo fanpu55y!!"), then it need not be reported.

Oops, sorry! That should've read "Report as Gamer Zone Violation". Wow. Quite a difference there :P

I've gone back and re-edited the original post.

Ok... now that you mean Gamer Zone:

I agree with you. It would be nice to have more of a distinguishing report for us moderators. However, simply reporting the comment does enough. The more reports a comment gets, the more we'll look at it.

I know a few mods wont touch the 1 report comments until they get at least 2 reports.

Report SPAM if the comment is obviously some spammer trying to sell a product or get you to click something.
Report OFF TOPIC if the comment is not relative to the news story or does not flow with the above comments (i.e. the first comment stating "I commented 1st").
Report OFFENSIVE if the comment is fanboyish in nature and is out of line or offends you in some way.
