Well Pain I'm going against one thing you said.  I want it on PC as well.  Other than that bring on FFXIV MMO!  All I want is a better run AH  or just get rid of it and have NPCs do that

It sounds timed to me.  He said the PS3's the only console you'll be able to play it on when it releases in 2010.  Anyway, could be cool, but I'm more interested in DC Online.

This FF Online is going to be INSANE!!! 

1. its "next-gen" 

2. PS3 Exclusive .... since if and i hope its NOT on PC, then there wont be the all the crap  that PC's bring to    the table like cheaters, 3rd party programs like Claim Bots and what not.

3. This FF will have  many years of past experience to make This FF MMO more 'NoOb' friendly so that it wont      be like last with Loosing player to "Baby's First MMO" err.. .. World of Warcraft... since FF11 was to much for        some to Hack. 

4. did i mention PS3 MMO?

5. JP/NA servers win, you just feel warm and Fuzzy.

VII and VIII came to PC but the only reason why I think it could was because of FFXI was on PC first and formost.  Which was the first FF MMO

I'm joking, of course...but it IS ironic that when MS scores FFXIII or MGS, everyone assumes there HAD to be a payoff. Nevermind an install base of 30+ million  and a ridiculous software attach rate...they HAD to pay to get a game on their console.

So when Sony scores FFXIV as an exclusive, or acquires former 360 exclusives (Lost Planet, Bioshock, possibly Mass Effect), there can't have been a payoff, right? Right?

For the record, I think that either both companies paid, or neither did. Or maybe a mix. We may never know.

Yes, I think it's on PC too because this is codename Rapture. I don't whether I prefer it being Rapture or FFXIV. It's still console exclusive though so it's still a good thing for Sony. Highlight of Sony's conference for me, was very good.

I've noticed SE is suddenly back in a certain groups' good books though. Hehe.

I don't.  However, it has the Final Fantasy name so I'm willing to give it a shot, like I am with FF13.  I've also played FF8 and enjoyed it and will be getting FF7 today.  However, the new one is a MMO, so I will not be checking this out unfortunately.

I dont remember him saying about a release and 2010 seems way to close especially since it's just been announced and Versus XIII doesn't even have a release date yet.

Wow I thought it was going to be a couple of years before we heard about XIV, but i lost interest like many of you as soon as I saw the online part. It's another XI which like this isn't a real Final Fantasy.

I'll be damned if I'm going to pay monthly fees for a game that I can pay $60 for and cave just as much fun.  If Square told them exclusive then they're liars. They told them the same about XIII, y'all don't think they'll do it again?

And when that happens I'm switching RPG franchises.

I think it is well worth it but seeing that this one is coming out in 2010 you might as well wait for it.  FFXI has been our for 5 years I think and is filled with to many high end characters and not enough low end characters to get a good foot hold anymore.  You really need a party to get moving.  Unless you want to be Beastmaster

Same here. Give us no monthly fees and I'll play it on day one. Hell, make sure the monthly fees are reasonable and I'll still play it day one.

exactly, MMO = more time spent playing

idk why anybody would buy this game for the ps3 when you can buy it for pc which i'm sure is gonna have far better graphics.

It's definately going to have fees because the whole point in releasing a new MMO is to get more members and get some old FFXI players to join and the fees provide the constant income that's funding their major games.
