Why do people approve bizarre stories, and posts about all these people planning on killing them selves because a games not an exclusive any more, stuff being stolen, reviews 6 weeks out of date.
People moan about it...... Yet it still hits the main site, some work that out an explain it to us please. ?

Yeah... I don't understand why they keep approving stories about suicides and killings, just because "supposedly" they relate to "video games".

You are a mod...if there is some rule being broken take the story down. It was appropriately labelled a rumour and was from a site that frequently has stories on N4G.

Was it a stupid article? Yes. Was it worthy of a significant report? No.

I think this particular article goes to the extreme, but I don't see a problem with it. But if anyone does go report

Can I just say two things here please,
1. Not all mods can remove stories on the front page (same goes for warning and banning.)
2, I'm also talking in general including things such as reviews popping up of games that have been out for weeks.

theres no rule against approving rubbish is there? if someone wants to approve something, its up to them.
im with toughname, i have no problem with it.
its not like you have to read it. it will come and go within a few hours. not that much of a problem to me.
NPD and VGCharts bore me with statistics. but would i have them taken down? no. because one mans boredom is anothers excitement.
just report it and move on. or as a mod, do something about it!

I thought it was REALLY funny how yesterday on the front page (the very top 3) were 2 duplicate news about sonic. one was called "Sonic cover might be real after all" and the other "Sonic cover confirmed real" HAHAHA!!! Funniest thing ever!

While I kind of agree, I have always found the best part about our community is that we get basically every story on the net about gaming. Alright, well not everyone, but a lot. I have found so many other gaming sites from this site and the randomness that comes here. Also, like has been said before, you don't have to read anything on here.

Am I the only person on this website who only looks at the news on the main page if it interests them? I mean, otherwise I just jump straight in here with you lot... The main site isn't interesting to me at all, and only serves to occasionally give me something to create a thread about...

If you're having trouble getting stories approved to win your approval rights, try using the tips section sometime. You're not likely to find anything "hot" in there, but a lot of the stories there are worth approval.

Everyone I've spoken to basically says use your discretion based on the guidelines provided.
*shrug*

Thing is, not everyone's discretion follows the same pattern so there will always be varying thoughts and opinions on the issue.
This is something I wish would be clarified and a standard put in place.

A lot of people don't even know the rules for approval. They just approve stories based on whether they like them or not. Even if they have reports that are legit.

I have nothing to do with the main site. I don't submit or approve stories. I don't even comment out there. The fourms seem to be a totally different side to this site, and it seems more user friendly in here. So this is where I stay and contribute.
