After a week of playing Grand Theft Auto IV, how pleased/disappointed are you with it?

And how does this compare with your first week of Halo 3?
(ignore this question if you haven't played it, obviously).

Halo was bigger purely because I am more of a fan, AND i was more interested in the storyline

Two huge release with humongous hype and great review scores. After playing both my first thought was "it's just Halo/GTA" I was disappointed by Halo3 cuz it felt like it had nothing new or refreshing about it. GTA4 on the other hand has a brand new city.

When i got Halo 3...i played non-stop...and i mean non-stop...lol...i was playing with a friend. The biggest rush, a video game has ever given me...i think i know my drug of choice now

Where as GTA 4...im only 15% done...lol...and its been out for a week.

I would say both met my expectations, which is good.

Playing matchmaking training in Halo 3 and kicking everyones ass was so effing awesome. I have videos saved from Sept/25

I didn't have very high expectations for GTA IV, but I am still feeling let down.

Graphically I am disappointed, I knew it was GTA and not to expect "excellent" graphics, but the jaggies/blur are a little annoying.

both great games, but I found the Halo release more satisfying and 'epic'

I am also quite satisfied with GTA's story. It's very long and exactly as I was hoping it would be.

Well for me Halo 3 was fun because I got to finish the story... even if it wasn't all that (imo) multiplayer has it's moments but I play Halo online more over at friends houses and GTA I'll pick up after I can get a cheap used copy and if the dlc is good but I've played that at a buddies house and it was the same 'meh' feeling I had with Halo.

Side note I never was a big fan of GTA, I have 3 and Vice City and played most of 3 and only started Vice but that was it.  Loved Halo 1 and hated Halo 2 so it there you have it

im tryin to sell mine to my friend now for $40 so i have some cash for somethin good maybe

for now im just tryin to play it to feel like i got my moneys worth

It's definitely long.

I dunno early I was impressed with it because it seemed like it had the potential to go really deep. Brucie and Roman were characters I just loved and would call them just to laugh at their voicemail. But the more I got into it the more repetitive it became.

I was disappointed with Halo's story...as in the script. But I had fun going through on normal by myself. Legendary with 3 other people? And Heroic with all the skulls turned on? And of coure the metagame. No chance!!!

Played GTA IV for 2-3 hours the first session, 1 hour the second and 30 mins the third.
When I first got Halo 3, I didn't leave the TV for about 10 hours... then I had to empty my bladder really bad.

GTA IV just isn't addictive :(

I'm kind of addicted, but I mean, I rarely get addicted to games...not like the N64 days.

But I play fairly often, taking it slow I guess, but I make good time in terms of missions per hour.

I've been playing more Disgaea on my gf's PSP than GTA IV since I got it... I guess the game needs a lot of fixing for me to like it.
This time the title itself isn't helping. Let's hope the PC version turns out better... I've always played GTA on the PC and it never failed to amaze me.
