Gamer's Randomicity - Tuesday, September 16, 2008 11:38 PM
It's late, I'm tired and so are you. Some of us may feel that this forum is not serving its main purpose: talking about games and not your sexuality or
offer your opinion about anything or anything as well as post-'whoring'. Since the Randomicity thread seems to be totally unrelated to what should all bring us here, I decided,a passing whim some will say,to make this thread.

Basically, what you do here is post your thoughts about 'Gaming Culture and Industry Discussion' and nothing else. I am playing with the rules here. In doing so, I hope to at least offer a platform of discussion and offer you the chance not to make a thread about something of minor importance and generate useless posts, gifs and whatever other stuff that litters the forum. You can talk about anything you like as long as it stays on topic and does not wander off to some unknown regions. One very polite contribution to this from potential future posters would be not to feel the need to argue uselessly with someone if he likes Halo and you hate it because your favourite colour is not in there. Of course,it will be open to discussion and debate, but please, please keep it clean and if it's not too much to ask of you: intelligent.

So,next time you feel that you want to talk about how EA sucks and is a threat to the industry, come here and offer your opinion for all to ponder upon. Back it up with facts and common sense. Prove your worth. Prove that you are not only an imbecile, lonely and seeking attention. If you are on N4G and complaining about how it work; here is your chance to change thing, to make it better. As Socrates would say, listen to those that really matter and learn and appreciate. Want to talk about the value of achievements and trophies and how it affects your gaming habits? Come here, say what you have to say. Change the thread's heading and topic. Say something intelligent and hopefully, it will generate positive response. Want to say how you got into gaming? No worries. Want to explain why you dislike this generation? Why you feel the gaming industry is a behemoth that can't bee stopped? Talk about the state of Indies? Discuss themes present in games? Argue about how WoW now forms part of popular culture and is affecting sociological trends and creating its own subculture? Explain why the industry seems impervious to the reigning doom and gloom of the current world economics? Define gaming as THE new art form? Express your love for old consoles? Lament on the disappearance of arcades? Easy, come here, talk about it.

I am very well aware that many will be turned off by the 'wall of text' but quite frankly, I am happy that it does. I do expect some people to come in here(If the thread is not locked) and post about how a 'wall of text fails. That won't bother me. I ill make an appeal to the necessary uthorities to get rid of them..That's how it works and how it should be done. I really don't want to see some useless posts in here even if it means that this will not have many pages or be very popular. It's not a popularity contest and I will make sure to post in here.  will keep it alive even if it means looking like an idiot. I just hope that the time and effort that I put in participating in this forum for the past six months will allow me, hopefully,to receive an appropriate response from members of this forum. At least, there are a few of you who might value my opinion or beliefs.

To kick off,I'll just start with something simple: I see EA as the best publisher this year. Looking at their lineup, there is no doubt that Ricitiello
and Moore have done wonders. No originality haters say? What about Dead Space? Old genre, but totally new for EA. Mirror's Edge. A First Person SHOOTER in which they actually encourage you not to use a firearm. Fifa and madden-more than jut different rosters, the games are improving and so is NHL 09. And what about Henry Hatsworth?  Brilliant according to me. Of course, EA is a business and I can't comprehend why people would view it as a non-profitable organisation. Of course they want your money, but now, they understood that consumers want their money's worth and are changing.

To summarize in a few lines: This is a gaming related website, this is a gaming related forum not MEETIC or some random and pointless internet creation. If you feel that this place has been going the wrong way and can't understand why we are not talking about how Shadow of the Colossus has forced you to understand your true purpose but rather engaging a futile discussion about hugging endangered species, eating **** and cracking 'hilarious' INSIDE jokes, feel free to post here and help bringing this forum back to its roots.

My eyes are bleeding...

...but i agree with the purpose of this thread.
...i shall not post in it.

Only this once.

EA is doing well. because theyve bought the studios, that can make great games. That and because time is finally on their side.

Theyve had time to perfect their sports games. NHL, Madden, so on.
Dice is doing really well for them. Mirrors Edge, Battlefield.
Critereon always makes good games.
Im not sure about Dead Space.

When you have the money, you can do great things.

He's already scared off 90% of the people on this site with such an "wall of text", as they say.

Anyway. Yeah, certain parts of EA are changing. They've decided that the whole yearly incremental game thing isn't working too well for those of us looking to spend £40 on something more than the same game last year with added polygons. They're starting to realise, as are other companies (to mixed results, admittedly), that the people who fund them - the consumers, the gamers, whatever - are actually more than just little banks of cash. As the fierce competition has moved away from hardware, and more to software (I've seen more than enough Gears vs. Resistance threads/bitchfits, and they're outnumbering the amount of 360 vs. PS3 threads lately), it's the Developer's and Publishers who see themselves needing to pick up the plate a little... So yeah, EA are changing - not completely, mind, 'cause some of those yearly incremental franchises are too cash cow-y to get rid of - and they couldn't have picked a better time as far as I can see.

WALL OF TEXT? I LOVE WALLS OF TEXT BABY, HIT ME WITH EM! I WILL EAT THAT FOR BREAKFAST!

I am really dissapointed with southpeak interactive, they seem like such a scumy company, I really wish they would get their act together and stop jerking people around.

I think that Capcom has some really great titles coming out this year as well as early next year. Street Fighter 4, SSF2 HD Remix, Tatsunoko vs Capcom as well as Resident Evil 5 just to name a few.

The thing is, it's not simply games that brought me here, it's the gamers. Thus, Randomicity is entirely relevant to this site's purpose, and your criticism of it is unwarranted. If you'll excuse me, I'm off to discuss sexuality with my fellow gamers in the greatest thread ever.

This thread is an insult. It's not even worthy of being Shankle'd.

However I do understand that you mean well.

I expect the 360 to win in overall sales by the end of the year.
