We've all encountered it; begging foreigners on Xbox Live, crying to the rest of the lobby to help them unlock their multiplayer Achievements via suicide, game-breaking behavior and more, thus spoiling the fun for everyone else. Thankfully, it looks like Gears of War 2 at least is going to fight against the whiney Achievement whores, by limiting the amount of accolades players can unlock in a single multiplayer game. Limiting the amount of specific kills per game won't solve anything. It will only give more reason for achievement junkies such as myself to "ruin the fun for everyone else". Instead of smacking on outrageous achievements in the final product, why not remove the online achievements all together and keep it a single player affair? Look at Call of Duty 4. This is one of the reasons it was so successful. Also, people like myself had more fun online because of it. OR... How about online achievements that are achieveable and do not require to perform repetitive tasks? "Seriously...", anyone?
