It's hard for us to imagine why they would do it, or how they could live with themselves, but if they are so weak as to gang rape a lone girl then they are probably laughing about it, i honestly think the minimum age to be jailed should be lowered, too many kids starting bushfires, burning houses down, robbing people, 15 year old kids killing each other....and they get referred to a councilor, even though most of them show no remorse. Even though the cycle didn't start with them ( where are the parents at?) the perpetrators are the ones who do it and they need to be taught that there are consequences in the real world...whether or not there are at home.

Agreed I hope they make an example out of the one who led her back there and throw the book at his b!tch ass. I'm sure once they tell him he's looking at 25-life with no chance of parole he will start to sing just for the hope that he will once again be free.

imo rape should be up there with murder as far as sentencing goes as you are basically killing any chance this poor woman has at a normal life.

If/when I have kids I'll sure as hell hit them in moderation if they don't behave . People always play the "fear isn't respect" card but it's bull,If I told my child NOT to do something it's because it's in there best interests and I expect them to respect ME enough to actually pay attention to what I'm trying to teach them.
I was hit as a kid but I didn't stop doing things out of fear of the beating,I stopped because I now understand why I was not supposed to be doing those things and if it took a beating every now and again to get that into my thick skull then so be it.
Bottom line is : pain demands attention far better than having a finger wagged at me and being told to sit on the naughty step.

I just think being involved with your child life and respecting them even though they are the child and they need to know right from wrong.  I just feel a good talking with your child about the realities of life and the consequences that their negatiive action will have on their life is a much better approach as opposed to just beating your kid because they won't listen to you. You just need to find a commen ground with your kids mine was little league with my father we had many eye opening situations together and these were some of the best times of my life and I leanerd alot about respecting people and I hope that I can have the same patience and understanding with my children.
