Highly interested in zhuk's impressions on this

For me i will start by saying my anticipation for this was very low. I really didn't expect much.

Graphics: Not bad, not bad at all. 20 cars on screen, the crowd is nicely done but there is still a lack of detail you find in titles like GT5P and PGR4. Graphically i would put it slightly above burnout but burnout exists in an open world.

Damage: Without a doubt, best damage i have seen. Parts of cars fall off and remain on the road and you actually feel them when you drive over them on your next lap.

Gameplay: Cars felt light. Too light. Maybe because i have been mostly playing GT5P where you can actually feel the weight of the cars but damn it was too ridiculous. The vehicle handling was poor imo. A little bit too arcade for me. (Would like to know what zhuk thought of the handling). They should have been able to balance it better with the handling. Was almost like driving in GTA4.

Overall, like i said i wasn't expecting too much so i wasn't disappointed. However this will NOT be the racer of the yr. Might get nominated but certainly won't be taking the crown. For now, burnout still stands as the best racing game this yr

The menus kick all forms of ass, but I know they were done with Anark Studio.

I don't know, graphics look insanely good to me and definitly better than PGR4 and in some aspects, close to GT5. The gameplay was also insanely good and a great balance between arcade and simulator.

Plus, as Skerj said, the menus ROCKED! I also like how they should text and messages when the race starts and how camera moves.

righteous, the graphics were solid, as i expected and the damage was a nice change of pace.... i think my favorite part of the damage was the actual damage taken in by the track and its surroundings, the walls actually reacted when being hit!

i like the fact that the cheif communicates with you but i bet that would get old down the long haul

the tracks themselves kinda left me feeling blah but it is a demo, and i do like the menus and the load screens with the stats just like DiRT

I thought Dirt vehicles felt light as well, why can't they get this right?  It feels arcade like to me too.

My favorite part about Dirt was the awesome breaks; 100 mph to 0 in 2 seconds, on gravel.

That hasn't changed

@pharmd. The damage is very impressive but the game doesn't look that much improved since dirt to me. But the damage is definitely a lot better. Just wish the cars had weight. The balance between arcade and simulation in games is very delicate. Burnout, PGR4 do it very well. Grid...not so much

Well I thought that GT5P was going to have some competion with Grid. I was actually excited aobout it, but now I 'm very disappointed. The cars are very twitchy and light. They feel very arcadey. I think I'm going to pass on this one.

The cars go flying off the road with the smallest tap of either braking system and driving in the sand is like trying to get out of tar.
Other than that it's ok.
Really like the menu's they all up in yo' face like BAM check me out, it's sexy. And the game knew my name. I felt special. ^.^

Hmmm i have very little memory of the menu. Must not have been very impressed by it. I remember the name thing. I like the guy that talks to you while you race but its nothing new. Dirt had it and so did formula 1.

Biggest problems for me is the light feeling of the cars. The slightest turn sends them flying. It takes a while to get used to the handling but once you do, racing is easy...too easy. (Once again probably due to GT5 which is kinda hard).

Like i said game ins't bad. Better than need for speed which to me is the worst racer. Not as nice as PGR or burnout.
Visually, i would put it on par with 40% complete MS2 http://lusoplay.sapo.pt/lptv/index.php?page=video&id=556 which isn't looking as bad as i thought.
