I'm running out of space quickly on my hard drive so I'm thinking about buying a new one. My question is this, is there a way to backup everything on my hard drive and port it over to the new one?

My biggest concern is losing some of the games that I purchased over the network that I may have shared one too many times. Will those games automatically port over to the new drive? Or will I have to re-download them from the PSN again. Also will it port all of my video and picture files as well?

how old is your computer? if it has sata in it theny ou can back up your ps3 hard drive and copy it over to your new one

My computer was bought in 2007. But how do I link the PS3 straight to the computer? I also have an external hard drive. Will that work as well?

the external might be the best solution actually, use in built in backup solution on the ps3 and back it up to the external, then replace the hard drive and restore the backup
