Status: offline 		Something I believe Santanas said in another forum implied, or out right stated, that when I buy something from the PSN I am only allowed to download that content 5 times?

Does this mean if I have a string of really bad luck with my hard drives I will no longer be able to download content on my PS3?

This is one thing I dislike about online content.  You can preserve a optical disk for decades, but you can't expect online only sources to be available for so long.

If this is true, it's one more reason to go back to PC in my book, atleast you can backup files and don't have to rely on others to back them up for you, and then limit how many times you can download them.

Explain this to me please.  Thanks!

Status: offline 		Infinitely on your PS3, but it can only be activated on 5 total systems.

Status: offline 		you can download them unlimited amount of times on 5 different ps3s.
so you would never loose your games unless 5 of your ps3 break.

Status: offline 		it will stay on you download list forever and u can download it as many times as u want but your account can be only activated on 5 ps3s at a time

yeah I just confirmed this with a buddy. We're "sharing" the COD maps. Sharing.

Status: offline 		Also, a PS3 can be "deactivated" from using account info at anytime. So, if your PS3 has an issue and you need to send it in to Sony, make sure that before you do so that you de-activate that unit.

Yes but some content only works when you're logged into a specific account (tied to your PSN name).

However, for things like the COD map pack, which are not tied to one account for use, you can share via having each others account dormant on your PS3.

I think it works like that. I could be wrong.

Edit: it might just be that by having your friend's PSN on your PS3, activated, that you can still download and play all his content since his ID exists on your PS3. So if that's the case, then yeah, you can basically share everything.

No, you're not missing anything. You're exactly right.

Rarely, there will be content that can ONLY be played by the person who purchased it, but those will be obvious. If it's something that can be bought at retail as well as via PSN (Warhawk, GT5:P, SOCOM), then you will be unable to "share" them. Otherwise, everything is fair game. Arcade games, map packs, DLC . . . you get my point.
