Status: offline 		Person1:My life sucks, I'm jumping off of a bridge.

Person2: NO NO NO! Thats a bad idea, and I in no way endorse it. No good can come from it.

Person1: ehhhhh.....     

Person2: If you're going to do it anyways, do a cannonball.

Person2:Still though, no matter which way you jump, its too drastic.

What do you think Person2's disposition is?

A: Thinks its a bad idea to jump off of the bridge
B: Thinks jumping off of the bridge would be O.K.
C: Thinks it would be better for him to jump off of the bridge

Haha, I'm definitely Person2. Having said that, this situation is purely hypothetical. I took another situation and made it cut and dry at the most extreme level possible.

D. doesnt think its a great idea but doesnt feel like its worth it to go through all the drama of trying to talk someone out of suicide, especially if its a person just doing it for attention :P

The reason I ask is me and my best friend were debating for fun and this cropped up as a sub-point to our discussion. We decided there was no point in trying to decide ourselves, as we had grown biased. Then I realized that bunches O' nice people gathered around these here forums who would be more than happy to answer our question.

Yeah, you got me there. I did say he wanted to end his life though. It doesn't really matter whether or not he will actually die after the fact, just what Person2 thinks about the situation.

Then in that case, I don't think jumping will give him the velocity to fall back to Earth fast enough to die from the fall. He'd most likely dye of dehydration or asphyxiation.

Also technically at that point I don't think he could be considered to be 'falling'.

thats quite a high way to go just to go back down to earth...unless its to a space station or a really really long bridge to the moon....thats a long trip
