In just three short days, America celebrates its 232 year of history on 04 July 2008; Independence Day.

The 4th of July is known across the country as a time of intense celebration with cookouts, vacations, parties, and fireworks.

Some people just watch the fireworks that are provided by their city, others buy their own and make their own display honoring this great country.

My question to you all is... what are you doing for this year's 4th of July!?

I bought over $600 worth of 1.4G (consumer grade) fireworks, and am setting up a spectacular show. We're having an all-day pool party and cookout with fireworks in the evening. A great way to celebrate 232 years of freedom!

Status: online 		It's a great movie seriously though wish we still had Empire Day so I had an excuse to let off copious amounts of fireworks

    Status: offline     		Sadly, unlike every other year, I won't be doing the full blown pool party/keg party/expensive (illegal) fireworks show/BBQ.  Instead, i'll just be hanging out with a small crowd, drinking a few beers and shooting crappy legal fireworks.  Boo!

    Status: online     		July 3rd i'll be at my lake house, where everyone lights flares all around the lake and have bonfires. its quite a sight apparently. then on the 4th, i'll be hanging out with my friends down at the park and playing wii until the fireworks in the evening.

    I'm not going to have a crew no. I wish I would. I think my Grandpa is just going to tape it with his old style (non-digital) camcorder. Beats not having it taped at all though!

    It's awesome to see that even non-Americans are going to have a blast even though it's America's birthday!!

    Hope everyone stays safe, and has fun. I'm gonna cut the drinking out because I really dont want to blow myself up with all those fireworks I got.

    Status: offline     		For me, I'll hang out with my friends come this July 4th, 2008. 

    However, to me the 4th of July has one sober purpose aside from celebrating the nation's birthday:

    To give thanks to our military guys who are still proudly charging "out there" away from their beloved families and friends.
    They're the guys who instead of celebrating July 4th with beer and BBQ, they quietly stand in vigilance against threats who wish to do us harm.  While we prepare ourselves for a "drunken" weekend, they make sure that we can do so without worrying about a possible terrorist attack.

    Yes, I know my post sounds self-serving considering that I myself had proudly served in the US Army, but it also saddens me that Americans tend to forget about our guys who guarantee us that we will always have our holidays, and not just the 4th of July.
