i know that this might seem dumb, but the talk about insomniac possibly going multiplatform in the future is bothering me.  Does that mean that 360 has a chance of a resistance or rachet game?

also in one of the quotes it said that insomniac was to inherit a ps3 engine.
from who?

if they did do you think they would still do exclusives for ps3 since they are so tight with sony?

Clank is published by Sony, too. So thatll never head over.

And to answer your question....maybe a later game, they might want to venture out of the PS3, and go to PC or xbox...i doubt any important game will head over to MS, though. Same goes with Bungie studios.

Insomniac will do what's in their best interests. They have to look after the company, not Sony.  However, my understanding is that Insomniac has been very content working with Sony.  It has been their choice and it has suited them. Should multi-plat dev be their future I would only mind if the game quality suffered.  They are, after all, my favorite dev co.

You should copy and paste that response into every stupid thread that gets made about developers going multi-platform.

if they went multi it would be kind of like bungie and microsoft
theyd be allowed to create multiplat projects but sony would get first dibs on new Ip's
and since the resistance and rachet ips are owned by sony they wouldnt be going to any other system

I don't see what the big deal is, and this is from a gamers point of view. if exclusives were few and far between then that just saves me the trouble of buying every console.

Sorry for my noobish comment but when did they say they're going multi-platform? As for Resistance and Ratchet going to 360, Ratchet can't because it's IP belongs to Sony. Resistance is the game that could go to 360.

It doesn't matter that Sony published the game. IP owner has everything. Just like Mass Effect. MS published it for 360 but the PC version is EA's and they can release it for PS3 if they want.

pretty much every big exclusive for the 360 is going to PS3 (like bioshock, oblivion, maybe mass effect, maybe Gears 3, RS:V which seemed to always enjoy at least 6 months exclusive to 360/xbox) i dont see why it would be bad if it was the other way around...but resistance and ratchet i believe are sony owned properties, only possible multiplatforms u'll see from them will be new franchises.

Sony doesn't own any of Insomiacs IP's, they own both, it would be retarded to just give up your own IP's.

I'll also say what Sonarus loves to say, i am betting both games RFOM2 and the next R&C games are going to be coming out for the 360, it doesn't matter that Sony publishes them, its only for so long

Nah Resistance IP belongs to sony too. Sony pays for all the games insomniac makes. They could go multiplat in the future but it would have to be a new IP. Regardless of this they have invested a lot of tech into the PS3 so expect the PS3 to enjoy lots of support regardless. Insomniac are great devs and i am glad they are getting a chance to expand. Insomniac have been the biggest supporters of the PS3 since the day it launched so not sure if they are going to switch sides but they could develop a game for a rival console...maybe a wii game even who knows

Edit: Well according to Odion, i am wrong. Only time shall tell my friend.

ratchet and resistance are both owned by sony, i checked the box small writing and legal crap, and they both say they are registered trademarks of sony, developed by insomniac.
