Re:Interactive Borderlands Skill Trees!!!! - Wednesday, October 14, 2009 10:33 AM
This is awesome...

At level 10, I'll have mastered Deadly and gotten a +30% critical hit chance... At level 15, I'll have mastered Focus and gotten +25% accuracy and -50% scope wobble... At level 25, I'll have mastered both Killer and Riotous Remedy (affording me +40% damage, +30% reload speed and 15% health recovery over seven seconds every time I kill an enemy)... At level 35, I'll have mastered Loaded and Hair Trigger - netting me +70% clipsize for my sniper rifle as well as +20% firing rate and + 30% more ammo for my handgun.

Finally, at Level 50, I'll have mastered Trespass, Relentless and Lethal Strike - granting me a complete immunity to shields, an extra 5% bullet damage, +40% firing rate and double damage Killer Shots whenever I kill an enemy, +50% melee damage with Lethal Strikes dealing 500% damage.

So...

Every time I kill an enemy, over the next seven seconds, I'll get... +40% damage, +30% reload speed, +40% firing rate, 15% health recovery and a 25% chance of landing a Killer Shot that will deal 100% extra damage. Add to that the passive ability to pierce any shield, +25% accuracy, +30% critical hit chance, +70% rifle clipsize, +20% firing rate and +30% clipsize for my handguns and +50% melee damage with a 35% chance of landing a Lethal Strike that would deal 500% damage...

That's... Awesome.

Another interesting build for the Hunter...

Focus, Swift Strike, Swipe, Deadly, Out for Blood, Lethal Strike, Aerial Impact, Predator and Bird of Prey.

While it's overly reliant on your Bloodwing, at Level 50, your Bloodwing will get... Double damage, +40% speed, up to five additional items dropped per enemy attacked, +35% damage converted to HP for you, 100% Daze chance and the cooldown for the Bloodwing will be 13 seconds instead of the original 28. With Lethal Strike and Focus, however, you should be able to last the 13 seconds fine.

Did you miss my post in your thread about this?? lol

Mines actually better because you can just right click to unlearn points...the other one you have to reset entirely.

Well I enjoyed my hunter in WoW so I think I'll go with Mordecai and a build something like...

http://www.borderlandsthegame.com/skilltree/mordecai/#11550005550055055000000(more of a traditional "hunter" build)

or

http://www.borderlandsthegame.com/skilltree/mordecai/#11550500500000005505055(more straight sniper and pistols for close range)

Most likely I'll go with the first one.

I think they should release it on the Halloween don't get me wrong I'm not a fan of DLC announced and priced before the game is out but think about it Zombies... Halloween... it's like they've made the DLC for the occasion plus it looks pretty nice.

I'm so incredibly hyped for this game it isn't even funny. That being said, though, I'm starting to wonder whether or not Mordecai can handle himself at the end of the day. Sure he'll be great in groups with other diverse characters, but goodness, even Lilith looks like she can kick more ass on her own. His skills aren't bad, in fact they're pretty sweet, but it seems to me if he gets overwhelmed or if there's a lot of enemies running up to him close range (as I've seen them do a lot in videos) then he looks like he'll be in trouble. Am I overanalyzing?

No I don't think you're over analyzing.. but what you do with somebody like Mordecai is not let yourself get cornered in. With a hunter in WoW you could do what's called kiting which is basically just running from your enemy while picking away and letting your pet do the damage. If you'll notice the "Aerial Impact" skill along with "Bird of Prey" should keep your enemies dazed while you just stay out of their range and pick away. Now If you get stuck in close quarters you might be in trouble. I wonder if he will have a "feign death" type of ability.

Hell, In WoW you could kill some of the raid bosses by using that tactic.

You're quite right. I suppose running and gunning always works in the top down RPG way. It's hard to run and gun with a sniper rifle while you're looking down the scopes, though.

But from what I've read and seen, Mordecai seems to be the only person with a sword as his melee weapon. What's more, I think I saw a skill where his melee damage gets boosted? That alone would make him at least proficient in close quarter battles.

Well yeah, either that or you could load up on the Pistol skills also and just use the sniper rifle for long range and a pistol for close quarters. I'm sure all the planning in the world will get thrown out once we actually start to play and see how well each skill/ability works.

I thinnk you guys dont know that your class is not locked to specific weapons - you can all use all the weapons.  You just specialize in certain ones.  I posted the link to the 30min gameplay video and one of the soldiers had a sniper rifle!

So remember you are not locked to a certain weapon
