Only if people choose to take it that way. I only say not to go all nuts over it so it wont get locked as quickly.

Yes. I could explain why without being a fanboy but I will respect the fact that posters are asked not to.

Well on dictionary.com the definition of a gimmick is

"An innovative or unusual mechanical contrivance; a gadget. "

My Answer: If innovation is a bad thing then i guess so....

Well you know I can see it both ways but both ways are good.  I just assume (which you shouldn't )  that gimmick is this four letter word in the industry.

yes it is for the most part depending on the games... you can play a game like wii sports tennis by acting like you're playing tennis for real or just barely flicking your wrist and you get the same results.

games its not gimmicky, are like RE4 or SMG or RE:UC

Agree with above depending on game but......is ds a gimmick?the iphones touch screen a gimmick?how bout phones with keyboards on them?usually a gimmick doesnt sell for this long and others sure dont copy it if it is.This is an innovation just liek the examples i said above.

Dont let Sony fans and Ms fans trick you,Nintendo made the d-pad was that a gimmick?or maybe the analog thumb stick was that a gimmick?or rumble in the controllers?

Sony and Ms have copied all these yet when they came out they got the same kind of "gimmicky" reviews as the wii remote is getting.

so my answer is no.Its an innovation.

I think the problem with most games nowadays is that it's too complex for most people.  It takes me hours to get used to COD4 and I get MOH2 Heroes and I'm fragging in 20 min.  The curve is too steep for many and causes them to quit.  They just need maybe a simpler controller, and more people can enjoy the fun.

My question is: Is the Wii worth it for my lifestyle and how I like to play? (or yours for that matter)

In all honesty, the Wii doesn't seem to offer much.

For my lifestyle probably not, I played COD4 for about 36 hours on this 3 day weekend of mine...I should have been reading a book or something.
