This topic is not for people's stories about "zomg my x-box has failed so many times grr" this is for people who have actually had good experiences with their hardware.

I was given a friend's 360 when gears of war came out that he had bought on launch day. I have since that played it for thousands of hours of gametime, left it on overnight countless times, i hardly have ever shut it off. Taken it to plenty of friend's houses and on road trips. It has never once let me down. Then my 360 elite I purchased has always worked for me as well, I haven't run into a single hardware problem, the worst problem I had was a 360 controller's left thumbstick wearing out from overuse and a broken mic headset.

My launch 360 was almost as good as yours. I let it on all the time, played the hell out of it too. But it just died this jan. of RROD. Its death was slow, took it a month to finally totally die out on me for good. I tried to bring him back, with the towels. I didn't want to let go, I just couldn't bare the thought of losing him, but it didn't work out. So now I've bought a replacement, he's not as good but he gets the job done, I'll always remember my first, though.

ah its going to be funny when SCG's system finally bites the dust.  Just making this thread is tempting the RROD gods, but i secretly hope its a disc drive failure.. no warranty for you.

space is -455 Fahrenheit, so your 360 failing from rrod is pretty much impossible

Murphy's Law prevents me from confirming this, because every time someone's like "oh my ****'s worked perfect" 2 weeks later "damn, I had to send it in".

Mine ended up just giving me sound & no picture, but I’m glad it did. The store I brought it from took it back without question, giving me a brand new one, a better model, HDMI output and all.

Apart from that, zero problems.

I'd say my first Xbox 360 Pro (launch) was pretty sweet. I just don't understand how one day it was great and the next day the DVD drive suddenly failed. My other Pro bundle is still in its box and my Elite is going strong... so far.

My 360 is still going strong.  Bought it December 06 and haven't had as much as a hiccup with it.  I know many people that have had issues but I consider myself one of the lucky ones I guess.

Doesn't seem like a good idea to play with fire by saying. "My launch 360 is still going strong". Without the new heatsink and other minor modifications they have made it is a timebomb. The funny thing is mine RRoD when I only had played it for like 15 mins the entire week. It comes out of nowhere. The elite should be fine though I would imagine.

Do you live in a cooler climate? I need to know, I think the Sonoran Desert is killing my consoles...

Congrats though I guess. You are lucky.

I have one friend with a launch 360 and it's never failed him. One time the power brick malfunctioned, but he swapped it with a brand new one (dirty trick, but no cost involved).

I had a 360 from launch to when the PS3 launched and it worked fine. (phone posting so don't expect any quick replies from me)

My XBox is rather new, it's a Halo 360 and I've never had a problem with it.  My husband has a launch day 360 and we've never had a problem with it until last Friday.  I turned it on to download the free Spongebob episode for our son.

As I was navigating to marketplace, I noticed the fans were getting unsually loud and then the screen went black, the fans stopped and two red lights appeared.  One less that is required for a free repair unfortunately.  It had a good restless life, at least now I get to play doctor with it!

I got an excellent amount of trade in value when I trade my 360 in.... after it had died twice...
It is to bad the platform is good it is just poor manufacturing... I hope the next xbox is better but I am going to wait a while before i buy it just incase...

I've had my 360 since Feb 2006 and its still working great, the strange thing is that I've encountered the 3 red rings 3 times so far yet each time I just restarted my console and it worked, I also recived the one red light and I was scared haha, the screen went black and white text appeared with hardware failure please called Xbox Support then some error code. Again I just restarted my console and it worked again, man I'm just lucky.
