Status: offline 		that the cell can use both ram? and I find it funny on what on one of the user said saying the GPU on the system that doesn't work is more powerful which infact if it is it wouldn't be using so much of Unreal Engine 3 and he says even though the PS3 has 512mb it uses more ram what a full load and how would he know considering that other one has 512mb and he thinks the one for the working console uses more?.

    So.... I'm guessing this guy "says you", is trying to tell us that his friend says the PS3 only has 512 of ram (whatever that is) and they had an argument about it? .......And he wants to know who's right.....? oh yeah! I'm smart  But I can't help you

    Status: offline     		Ya know, rather than get into the hardware specifics just look at the game.  You can argue all kind of details about the hardware, but in the end just look at what the consoles are doing.  PS3 IMO has good graphics on par with 360; that is if they do a good job on the game.  PC has best hardware, but that doesn't always mean it has the best game, it's all opinion.  Don't worry your head over hardware differences unless your tying to learn about electronics hardware in general.

    Speaking of hardware.  I've been putting my PS3 to the test by playing MSG 1 for the first time.  It's great fun!  Thanks for the essential collection!  Goes to show hardware isn't everything.

    PS - If you want to comb through my comments going WAY back, you'll find I once posted a link to an article which had literally 50+ pages on PS3 hardware and compaired it to PC's and the 360.  It also addressed some of the common misconceptions.  It was on a computer hardware forum, and appeared quite credible.  Also, the truth of the matter is that we don't know for sure the specs of either console, there is a small chance that the released specs don't exactly match what's inside; so I've heard.

    Status: offline     		That is very true Proxy, generally the "performance" specifications are completely fabricated, and either side only lists what they can find a way to spin and brag about.

    I remember, befor the Xbox 360's specs were released the PS3 specs said it was capable of 1 teraflop of performance.  The 360 specs claimed it was rated at 1 teraflop, and like a month later, the PS3 re-released it's specs and claimed it was 2 teraflops, all this befor they started cutting hardware from the machine.... and they still claim it has the same floating point performance. 

    Infact, anyone can head over to wikipedia or read from IBM the details of the Cell, the entire PS3 probably has a maximum performance of about 500 gigaflops (1/4 of what they claim) and the Xbox 360 is probably somewhere in the vacinity (1/2 of what they claim).
