That is very true Proxy, generally the "performance" specifications are completely fabricated, and either side only lists what they can find a way to spin and brag about. I remember, befor the Xbox 360's specs were released the PS3 specs said it was capable of 1 teraflop of performance. The 360 specs claimed it was rated at 1 teraflop, and like a month later, the PS3 re-released it's specs and claimed it was 2 teraflops, all this befor they started cutting hardware from the machine.... and they still claim it has the same floating point performance. Infact, anyone can head over to wikipedia or read from IBM the details of the Cell, the entire PS3 probably has a maximum performance of about 500 gigaflops (1/4 of what they claim) and the Xbox 360 is probably somewhere in the vacinity (1/2 of what they claim).
