http://kotaku.com/5028117/itagaki-didnt-leave-tecmo-he-was-fired

So..we know that he was fired. Has this changed your once empathatic position on the situation or what? (This is for those who was rooting for him after the whole Tecmo thing came to light.

After finding out that his claims for bonus's unpaid was either due to prior management and that he was paid some of it or whatnot, to him actually being fired, what do you think?

Edit-

As for the company explaining their position on the bonus issue, i'll look for the link shortly.

Thar goes t3h link!!

Edit-

Turns out Kotaku has some Watergate Scandel type tapes talking about the past managements deals..but that particular link is errored out.

They could recoup that money if they did a few ports.

No, an actual possibility. It's actually very likely in this "Gen". What with multiplats almost being the standard. Sigma2 announced TGS anyone?

If you say so.

personally, it gives me a chuckle.

Industry wise, it makes you wonder how a company or developer can have a relationship that sours like this and makes you see who truly is in the wrong. If one or the other is truly in the wrong, then wouldnt that give them a sort of permanent black mark on their record.

Think of it this way. Lets say Tecmo is in the wrong and turns out there's a crapton of workers being done wrong like Itagaki. Would you continue to buy games made by them or support them? Or would it not matter if they killed baby seals, you'd still give them your $.

Just something to discuss.

Itagaki is a stodgy and arrogant game designer and director. I do not like his games. Perhaps he would be better off making a boobie simulator game for the 360 at Microsoft Game Studios.

He will never become a well known legendary game maker.

Expect their next Dead Or Alive and Ninja Gaiden game to be multiplatform.

The bosses are so stuck up there own backsides they probably see him as nothing.

The Marketing department is the only important department, everyone knows that, just ask the boss of EA.

In the end, he's no longer with Tecmo, and that's what matters. Whether he was fired or whether he resigned is just pointless detail; his "firing" is posturing from Tecmo ("we're not following your timetable!") and a way to cut off any further possible earnings, since he had announced he was leaving anyway. Now they've lost the face of their company and consequently they're going to lose a lot of press once this is all over: Itagaki is the king of developer trash talk. He kept interest in their properties. There's going to be a struggle there now.

It feels the man got a little too big for his boots anyway and had maybe a bit too much influence, to the point where if he has actually been slighted, it was probably a failed attempt to keep him in check by the new management - to remind him that at Tecmo, Tecmo makes the rules, not Itagaki. But it's hard to feel sympathetic for either party, because there is blatant money-grubbing and arrogance on both sides.
