I was browsing for a new game the other day and came across Lost Odyssey on sale. They even threw in the bonus pre order card stuff

First Jrpg i have played in quite a while and i have to say i am surprised how much it doesnt suck  Turn bases battles in other games bored me to tears but i seem to be able to tolerate this one just fine. The boss battles are fun and when you beat them you certainly feel like you earned your victory

The character jansen is funny as hell and some of the CG movies are pretty sweet. Dialogue can be a little cheesy at times but i dont think any japanese game is free from that. There is sections where you "recall" things and they can get a bit wordy but some of them are a good read and you can skip them if your not into it.

Alota mixed reviews for this game but their main concern (load times) hasnt bothered me yet. I also have the aussie version which apparently has a better designed case than the US version but i wouldnt let that stop me from picking it up.

As someone who mainly plays FPS and Western RPGS i found this game a refreshing change of pace. If you have beaten GTA and are looking for something new i suggest you give this game a shot. Ive only played it for 8 hours into the first disk and still have 3 disks left to go so this game isnt something you will beat overnight

LO is a great game, I enjoyed it thoroughly, if you like that Blue Dragon is also well worth a shot, the story in it wont win any awards but it is an excellent example of an old school JRPG

I love JRPGs and I love Sagagutchi's work, and this game was the reason I considered the Xbox in the 1st place but I really got board half way through the 3rd disc, I may come back to it latter but there is nothing to excite me to go back to it, have fun though.

I thought I was the only one who got bored with this game, I too stopped playing about half way through disc 3.
I've been trying to get back to it for like 2 months now but I just can't.

Actually we aren't the only ones, I know 7 people who bought/rented this game and only one guy finished it, they all felt the same way specially when there are excellent releases coming out every month since the start of the year.

Ha yeah Jansen is sweet

The game is well done and yes those memories are rather wordy.  I read two of them was really impressed but couldn't read anymore.  It flows well and has some cool areas in there.

giving this one a bump   DLC has been around and I wanted to get some things done before I give it a go.  I just went to all the areas and I'm fighting the extra bosses so far killed the Holy Beast and the Blue Dragon  (kind of cool they named a beast after there first game) after all those extra bosses are finished I'll hunt out the royal seals so I can get those uber skills

Oh I have the +10 slots (from the Holy Beast) but any idea where the +5 slots is?  Or will I find it from another side boss?  Also anyone try the DLC yet?  I want to know if it's any fun...

The Living ice boss mopped the floor with me when he popped spell reflect after id told all my casters to use grounda Plus he spams a water AOE. think i need to grind a few more levels so i have more of a HP buffer and watch my casts more.

Not high enough level to do the DLC yet but il pick it up once i start the 4th disk. i put this game down for a while at the start of the 3rd disc but im glad i went back to it!

Update:

I have finally hit disk 4, despite the appearance of another boss with an un dispellable spell reflect!

Sed is awesome and im just cruising round with the nautalis doing the side quests and treasure hunts. My highest level toon is 37 and i heard you need to be in the 80s to complete the DLC so ive got a loooong way to go yet. 40 hours in now and im still having fun, so anyone on the fence should try this game imo!

Hentai hes actually quite happy with it. As is anyone with a Xbox 360 as they are able to enjoy all the great jrpgs and wrpgs on the system. Dont hate because your system does not have any rpgs.
