Well, we've seen both games in action now so what I ask is this, what do you think about each one's graphics and which one do you prefer?

Killzone 2 overall graphics look realistic and more natural than Gears' but footage of GeOW2 was more technically impressive. The huge open worlds and battles with lots of action going on and much more characters along with great background detail from burning city to all those huge vehicles and monsters.

My personal pick is neither! If Killzone 2 had stayed close to E3's graphics and feel, I would have chosen it but didn't really like the new footage even though it still looked insanely impressive. As for Gears 2, while highly impressive due to huge enviroments and crowded battles, the whole thing felt just too much like the original and aside from better lighting model, rest of graphics hadn't changed (Though with lots of more objects and action on screen at any given moment, that's still quite a feat).

Have to side with Killzone 2. We haven't seen anything like it on either console. By far the biggest shock value of 08' so far.

Killzone 2 will take the cake for graphics it is pretty obvious, but I think Gears 2 will have a better overall score.

Gears will probably try to knock down Zelda from the best rated game if GTA 4 did not take it already. This game will be marketed like crazy before it comes out.

for graphics Killzone 2 but not by the KillZ0wnEd margin
however with that being said it seems like gears would be more fun to play, looks a lot for frantic

lol if GTA4 couldn't beat Zelda, I would bet my house that Gears 2 can't either

if there's any game in the forseeable furture that could beat Zelda, it's Fallout 3

other big contenders like MGS4, GeOW2, GOW3, Resi 5 and FF13 have a slim chance of topping Zelda's greatness

not that I think Zelda is the best game ever mind you, but it's definitley a classic

I didn't have an N64, but when I played that game at my friends house- it just blew me away

Graphics....... probably Killzone 2

Gameplay........ probably Gears 2

but it could all change, there's still months to go till the release of either game

The word.

Personally, I don't think Gears 2's scores will come close to even original Gears. I don't know but aside from the bigger battle ground, everything felt the same and original Gears gameplay has been copied to death.

Gears looked more impressive because it was more action packed but KZ still takes the cake graphically.

Gears video we saw was still pretty much on the rails and the more enemies on screen looked just as daft as they looked during the tech demo (0 AI... while KZ2 has at least half A.I.).
Straight up on graphics, animations, effects KZ2.
Gameplay and overall fun looking game Gears by a ki11l0wn3d margin

Gears of war 2 graphics sucked. Textures were very low res, the monsters were very low res textures, and the lighting was decent. The game will be amazing, but graphically it looks a little worse than gears of war 1.

The art design is amazing. But their are alot of problems with the graphics, that people aren't noticing. Killzone 2 is leaps and bounds better, so is uncharthed, and bioshock, Assasin Creed, and I'll even say COD4 at its final state. Gears of war 2 doesn't have the textures gears of war 1 had. It has tons of problems from particle effects (the fire sucked), to low res textures on the back drop, when you looked down. The game made a epic battle, but it did not have the graphical finesse that Gears of War act 5 did, or uncharted drake fortune did. It needs improvements...

graphics: killzone hands down
gameplay: gow2 looks like gow1 in terms of gameplay which is good but i don't know how fun it's going to be playing the same game again...
killzone has to prove a lot but probably gow2 will score more on the gameplay section

I'll take gears 2 any day. The gore , the graphics, the multiplayer and the enemies are imo so much better than killzone. I also remember killzone 1 so I wont get exicted about part 2.

With the amount of time and money that has gone into Killzone 2, I'd have to say that.

But then I won't actually be playing it till a long time after Gears 2.

Killzone 2 looks so good I almost don't believe it. Is there some kind of a trade off to achieve those graphics? I'll probably remain skeptical until the game ships. It's just mind blowing. Gears of War 2 looks significantly better than Gears 1 and the new gameplay elements have me really excited. Will I be able to take hostages in multiplayer? For me, it's all about Gears 2, and although Killzone 2 looks better, Gears 2 looks better than just about everything else on both systems.
