Sorry i have no idea how to do that.  I only used VirtualBox for a few days and never tried doing anything like this, my brother has a laptop with Windows Vista on it so that's what we use to do our IPhone/IPod related things.

I just wish Apple starts supporting Linux at some point 'cause this is like the only thing we are really lacking from Windows and MACs.

Well, maybe Shakka will know.He might use that type of phone.
All I know is Polluted told me to get an MP3phone because they work with Linux well.

Eh?  Did I say that?  I think I just recommended you get a phone that plays MP3s since your phone is pretty old anyway.  You could kill two birds with one stone.  The other advantage is instead of having to sync it with your PC you can just pop the memory card out and load it up with whatever you want.

I'm not sure what MP3 players work best with Linux, but I just hate the way you need to "sync" your ipod.  you know it'll even delete songs off you iPod if you don't have them on your computer anymore when you sync it.  Wtf is that about?  Bah.  I'm getting all riled up just thinking about how stupid iPods are.

Yeah i think the syncing option on Apple devices is really lame and having to do almost everything from itunes is bull**** too, i know they want to protect their business and all but damn,it can get quite annoying for us users.

Apart from the stupid iPod I think they all should work fine.  Pretty much anything that doesn't rely on its own stupid software to work.  Avoid the iPod and the Zune.

As for a phone, you'd have to ask the guy at the store.  I want an N900, myself, but those won't be out here for a few months and I think they'll be exclusive to Rogers.  The Palm Pre is pretty slick too.

My HP Photosmart C4200  All-in-one works with no problems yet for printing, but I haven't tried scanning or anything else yet.I am told I should have no problems at all with anything.

Actually,I have a question about mine. How do I scan stuff and use all the features. So far I have only printed something, and there aren't the other boxes for all the features like scanning and stuff like there is on Windows.

I have a question and can't find it on the Ubuntu forums. My Canon camera came with an install disk so I can load the pics onto the puter. How do I do this using Ubuntu, knowing the disks won't work on Ubuntu of course.

Or,am I just screwed and have to use windows for it?

Ubuntu will probably detect that camera without the need of the installation disk.

Re:Linux Thread - Saturday, October 10, 2009 2:40 AM
I have some files that don't seem to load on Banshee. They are .avi.
Is there a way to get them to load on Banshee?I have been looking on Google and can't find much to get them to load on Banshee.
And yet, when I double click on the file it plays with movie player.
Also, this isn't with all .avi files,as some do load on Banshee, while these others don't.Why is this?
