Anyone think or know if they will patch the game so kids can have an easier time with it?
As an adult I cant even get through it , it doesnt seem to jump correctly or the camera angle goes off.
None of my kids or kids i know can play it and just go for the user generated levels but there isnt much there and many of those dont work either..
Perhaps this is why the sales are tanking..

you just have to keep searching for well-made levels... the one's on the disc are perfectly playable for kids etc etc

it's hard to make a balanced, functioning level yourself so it will be some time before you see an abundance of them online

Its the Ps3s viva pinata, a hardcore game in casual clothing on a system thats main audience is FPS fans.

I doubt they will patch the jumping mechanic because they kept it like that all through the beta.

It's not designed to be easy. I think the jumping mechanic is fine. It gets a lot of criticism but in all honesty I think people just get irritated because they can't do a particular section - if the jumping were less "floaty" it would still be just as hard to make the jumps.
"None of my kids or kids i know can play it" - I don't exactly know what you mean by this... of course they can play it. Playing it just involves moving and jumping around. Of course they can complete the first few levels - if they can't well there's really no hope because those are about as simple as gaming gets. If they get stuck on a particular section, well, that happens in all games. It's only more recently that games have started to have the push-over easier-than-easy difficulty modes so that a baby could complete it.

Furthermore, the minigame levels you _can't_ fail, or rather, you have to, and you go for a high score. These kind of levels are tremendous fun because it's all about competition between players, not against the level itself.

It's difficult to make a good level, but then, making a level is a matter of _design_, and no matter how intuitive you make the controls, that's always going to be difficult.

The only thing they might be able to patch is to give you infinite lives/more lives at each checkpoint. I don't think the game is overly difficult though. Maybe you and your kids just need practice

what?? FPS fans? why?

I agree hardcore gamers will get the most out of it, but what has this got do with FPS fans? I'd say it's charm is more likely to appeal to more RPG-inclined gamers and just impartial gamers in general

Yah, it is hard for casual gamers. My sisters were having trouble with the jumping mechanic in the game.

I have a Daughter and she is having alot of fun playing the game with me, it can be a bit difficult when you come closer to the end, but what I have found with alot of kids is that if they are playing with you and not by themselves they will have much more fun, even if they die alot.

It's like all things it's a learning experiance for them, if you have a child who is having a tough time with the game I would suggest playing it with them, it should help them learn a bit a faster when there is someone to help teach them.

i very much agree with you.
i bring it over to my friends house and his little sister plays with us sometimes, but no matter how many times she dies she still has fun and just enjoys the game and playing it with her older brother
i recommend this game to any child

Wow.... don't take this the wrong way but are you one of the guys that post comments on youtube like "They're making a movie out of this?!?!?!" when you're watching a trailer about DMC4 or any other ignorant comments I'm really trying to block out right now. LBP is probably the easiest game that I've ever played on my PS3. All you do is jump, move left right, up and down (you know.... towards the background... 3 layers...), and use R1 to grab things. That's it! THAT'S ALL YOU DO! Great game. But seriously... try beating Call Of Duty: World At War on veteran.

The collector level is by no means easy. I can deal with it but a casual palyer can have some problems. I played some games easiest than LBP, despite the simple controls, you need to adapt your jumps with the physics of the game and some people just don't get it

I aced every level in LBP and got all the items. I just need the Create and Team Creator trophies to get the Platinum trophy.

How can you not get it? It's so simple! I just hate noobs online. By noobs I mean people that seem to be mentally challenged and just can't do the simplest of tasks. Specially when it's a shooter game and they're on my team.

This is really bothering me. You find people like that in every game online. In a death match its ok but in a team game that's just annoying. Like those guys that post dumb comments on youtube. And like that guy that wanted to make his PC a mirror. He said he tried scanning the mirror WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU! How does he even dress him self?!?! If you want to see yourself in your computer buy a camera!

Some people just don't understand the gaming, all the games have things in common. I learn to play quickly any kind of game but my for my GF it takes more time mostly because i played tons of games and know the mechanics not because i'm smarter

But yes some people better stay with wii sports

not because i'm smarter

If you're playing LBP and you're new at it and you wonder too far from your friend what happens? He dies. "Let's not do that again..." is what I would think and anyone with the IQ higher than a dog should think. But I've seen new guys do things over and over wrong and not learn from their mistakes. If you're playing a game with CTF and it's your first time ever playing CTF don't go and hide with the flag! CAPTURE THE FLAG. It's in the name. TAKE IT TO YOUR BASE. Don't sit with it in a corner going "Wait what do I do with the flag? Why are you guys shooting me, you're on my team and there's no friendly fire."

Your gf probably doesn't care about the game enough to actualy get serious and start doing some serious thinking and catch up quick. I'm sure she could if she wanted to. Everyone should want to! It annoys the other people on your team (in a shooter)

So why did I quote you? Let's face it some people are dumber than others (outside of games). In the real world. Not beacuse they're playing a game and not trying. Like that girl that said her boyfriend cheated on her so much she wasn't even sure the baby was his! He's the one cheating not her! Of course the baby is hers.

I'm not sure that makes sense, I'm assuming the girl is dumb because she doesn't know if the boyfriend is the father, because he is cheating (which is dumb) rahter than wondering whether the baby is hers. If the girl thinks the Baby she is having isn't hers, that's the stupidest damn thing I've ever heard.

Even I find the game kinda hard! (I'm 18). But something that gets on my nerces are the parts where you must absolutely play with two sackboys. At first I did with two controllers(!) but after the jungle levels the coop parts are absolutely insane.

Maybe they just need to play around with it more so they can get the feel for it because my six year old step brother had no troubles keeping up with when we were playing together during coop. He even had so much fun with the game he got his mom to play with him which is really incredible if you know her. lol.
