i am fighting "vamp" i keep killing him and tranqualizing him but it doesnt work.
what are you supposed to do?

...if you keep Codec'ing Otacon, he'll give you the hint..but remember what Naomi said about vamp? that he is full of nanomachines? What item do you have that halts nanomachine activity.

SPOILERS BELOW

when hes regenerating go next to him (no weapons equiped)
and hold down R1 to do a headlock
make sure you have syrum equiped in items and press triangle while doing the headlock

hehe. this was a cool fight. took me forever to figure it out. for one i didnt use the CQC much so i had no idea how to grab him. finally i used the tranq gun to get his pysche to a sliver and i could grab him easily.

I kept calling otacon and rose so I figured it out without using the internet.

Screaming Mantis is much easier. Otacon should tell you what to do quite quickly. Hint - it involves syringes, your neck, and other things of this nature.
