MP3 Players - Friday, October 19, 2007 7:13 PM
What MP3 player do you own, whether its a Creative Zen, Ipod or Sony for example. The feel free to post here and tell us what MP3 player you got and why. I own a Creative Zen Sleek 20GB hard drive at the moment, very good I must say and the sound on it is impressive as well as the ease to put songs onto the MP3 player itself. Another cool thing about it, is the fact that it supports so many different music files unlike the Ipod which is quite limited.

I got a Creative Zen Vision M 60gig version, I got it because I wanted to put all my music on a player and watch films and stuff too, I didn't want an Ipod because they are rubbish, so I got the Zen Vision M.

it is very nice, black and shiney with an excellent quality screen, I can read subtitles easy on it and there is no blurring during motion, the sound quality is excellent as well, the TV out function is perfect, you wouldn't know it was coming from an MP4 player, the FM radio reception is also excellent. I use it at home when I am bored/chilling.

I have a 1gig Creative Zen Nano plus aswell, the sound quality on that is very good too, the battery lasts along time (about 40 hours with 1 AAA) and again the radio reception is excellent, it has served me well and is the one take out and about with me.

I have got a 30gb Zune. Got it cheap before they released the new version. I am very happy with my purchase, its just a shame that it doesn't play avi's.

I would love to get a Creative Zen Vision M tbh, they look awesome. I'm still unsure whether the 60GB version or the 30GB version is the thinner of the versions. I would to try out the 80GB Zune which also looks great. Its thinner than the the older generation of Zune's.

I got a 30gb 5th generation ipod, the ones that all had video functionality so they weren't called ipod video anymore.  I've had it for about a year and a half, and the battery life has been declining for a while.  I think once I get my new laptop, I'll invest in either a 20+ gb Zen or a Zune, but I've got some research to do purchasing one.  If anyone knows whether either one has user replaceable batteries, I'd like to know, because that would be a major deciding factor for me.  It costs too much to have Apple replace an ipod battery.

There are 2 versions of the 60gig zen, the first version was fatter then the 30gig the later version (one I have) is the same size. (because people where moaning about the cases not fitting it).

I don't think any of em have a battery you can change they all use there own sealed in ones, you might be able to buy third party replacements on ebay and and void the warrenty by changing em yourself tho.

I have an 80 gig iPod with video.  I never was going to get a mp3 player really for I have cd's and plenty of cd players but then a few of my buddies gave me a b-day present of a HDD full of there music.  It was around 300 gigs... that's just music as well.  So I grabbed myself a large storage one and I know everyone is all about iPod and there are plenty of stuff that incorporates the iPod so I went with that.  I have a few play lists that I created and I have a few music videos, tv shows, and movies from iTunes.  It's pretty fun.

Well I'm thinking about getting a new MP3 player now and a new mobile phone lol as the screen cracked alot. Anyways, I would love to get a Zune 80GB but I live in the UK which sucks so I hope that MS brings it out over here soon. Second, It seems like Creative are not selling Creative Zen Vision M anymore and Ipod seems to be the only option left whihc kinda sucks tbh.

Currently I own a 20gb Iriver PMC-120 series. It's fairly old, but amazing for its time.

Though soon I'm planning on getting a 8gb Samsung P2.

Originally got the iRiver, but it was only 1gig (Also payed $200 for it, which is only $50 less than the freaking zune!), so I upgraded to the zune 30gig black.  The PSP I don't, nor plan to ever use for playing music, but it has the ability which is why I posted it.

Yeh I own a PSP as well, I think I may dive in and get my first Ipod which will be the Ipod Classic 80GB. I just need people to tell me more information though, does the Ipod work with Windows Media Player 11 or do you have to use Itunes to transfer music over to it. Second, how bad/annoying is the DRM on the damn thing? and any other information you could tell me and I would be thankful.

I have an ipod and I'm pretty sure you have to use iTunes to transfer music to it.  The transfer is one way, so no pulling music back off it if you deleted it from your computer for some reason.  It burns music from your CDs to AAC format, but can accept MP3 as well.  You can burn CDs with the unprotected AAC files you get by ripping your own CDs, but I don't think you can with the protected AAC files you get through their download service.  Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong here.  I'm also pretty sure you can't use protected AAC files on any MP3 player other than the ipod or any media program besides iTunes, which means they won't show up in your library if you're using your ipod with your 360 for custom soundtracks.
