I know not very many people on N4G are really into the sports genre.  But for those who are, what were your impressions of the Madden demo?

First and foremost, I downloaded the game on both systems and I was ecstatic to see that they BOTH RAN THE SAME.  Which made my choice easier on which platform to buy it on.  The PS3 controller feels more natural and navigating through button presses feels more fluid in my reaction timing.  I guess it's because I've been used to that layout for my football gaming since 1996.

My favorite thing on this game which is minute for some, but big for my style of realistic offense is this. They added the 3 step drop for the QB like in NCAA. It feels very rewarding when done properly and your pocket is still protecting you. Overall, it feels more "sim". But I'm sure the glitches and Nanos will be discovered shortly after the release of the game.

On a competitive standpoint, August-September is the best time to play competitive football. Because most of the top madden players rely on user catches, specific animations and programming glitches to win their games. Since the glitches havent been discovered, they're forced to rely on pure X's and O's football. Something a lot of these players do not have.

Yeah Pharmd. You're late dude. HAHA!

It feels more like the PS2 Madden.  Which is a good thing. Because it was very polished, glitch free and relied on strategy instead of the BS glitches on Next Gen.  On Madden 08 last year on 360, I can literally rocket catch my way down field, nano blitz with the D and the opposition couldnt do nothing about it.  09 fixes all of that.

Last gen gameplay with next gen graphics = Win

It looks as if EA may have finally done it right with Madden this year.

i found it difficult to judge based off of the demo cause of the way it is setup, i do think though that the madden IQ is more of a tack on, although i hope that is an unfinished version of it in the demo... i would just plow through pressing nothing except forward on my left stick to run and got all madden on offensive rush. Not to mention when i did bad on purpose with a 209 IQ and later tried with like 478 IQ (Im new to madden, so my best is pretty bad) and i did not see a difficulty change, more so it got easier.

the graphics looked very nice too and overall i liked the feel of the game, it feels more realistic then 07 which was the only other madden i have ever bought (use to be a 2k fan). the game seems to run good too on 360, i dled the PS3 one but havent played it yet since i know im not buying it on ps3 anyway.... that being said i liked the demo and will most likely be buying it, i payed it off earlier today, now i need to decide between this and soul calibur 4.

I think you're going to love it.  As a hardcore Madden gamer, I have confidence in this year being the best next gen version.

I'm really excited for this year's Madden. Its actually looking great compared to last year and 60 fps confirmed . I just got to get used to having the sprint button on R2 instead of X and using the Right Analog for Juke, which is easier imo. I was just used to the old controls. Overall, first day buy for me. E-A-G-L-E-S....Eagles!

I gotta say im quite happy with it compared to last year's, much more fluid, and reacts to inputs a lot better.  The animations were great.  I did get a sense of reading the defense being extremely key to the success of a play.  Really have to spot the open man on the snap and deliver on time.  One thing Im actually a little peeved about is the changing of the button layout.  I still hate the changes to the strafe and turbo buttons, but i think i can change it if needed.  But what I really dont like is the implenatation of the highlight stick.  I just feel they dumbed it down, making flicking the right anolog stick to so a special move, whatever context its in.  I want to be able to stiff arm to side I want, change hands, I dunno, I miss 2005 still, but I think I'll give this one a shot.

I like what i see so far, as far as demo's go though it kinda sucks. I wish it would allow you to preview more of the new features or perhaps even play some real defense would be nice.

The game looks great on the ps3. It runs nice and smooth. But i do not like the new look for some reason of the play calling. They really should of given more of the demo less then 2 minutes to play a game that really does not do anything,

I like the play calling slightly better than Madden 08.  The fact that they give you all 4 buttons to choose a play from is much better than highlighting over the play and pressing X.  But the SNES, PS1 and PS2 versions work a little better for me.

The thing i mean is the box how it looks in general. Im just so used to the previous years looking like the same color and everything.

What system are you getting madden for?

i only played it briefly but i do like it, not love it, but like it and a good bit more than the previous couple years.....

i will be buying it for certain but i still think the monopoly on the NFL is bad for gaming

I'm getting it on both systems.  PS3 because I prefer it's controller layout and I want to make a name for myself in the PS3 community. 360 because there's a lot of extremely good ballers on there and most of the tournaments are on 360.
