So, I had been using an FF2 variant for the longest time. But I got tired of waiting for an update. I think it's basically dead now (lolifox, its exactly like FF2 but has a bunch of preset bookmarks for anime links, and other minor variations).

I decided just now I would get FF3, spend 15 or so minutes setting it up like my old browser is/getting addons back, and simply restore the bookmark set from lolifox to FF3 in order to keep the anime/manga links.

And, it's great. It's slightly faster and I still don't even know what new features there are, but from what I've used so far, I'm glad I finally made the jump.

yeah, FF3 is great. but N4G tends to crash mine a lot though. or it sometimes takes forever to load.

IE7 hates N4G. While it works almost all the time, it occasionally decides to close itself whenever I'm in the middle of a post... Annoying, really.

So far so good...however, Live Mail (which told me when using FF2, that I need to upgrade to get the "full" hotmail experience) still doesn't give me the "full" experience, I'm guessing probably because MS doesn't particularly like Firefox.

Here's something interesting though, I noticed that it is a memory eater compared to Firefox 2.

Trust me, you won't want to go back to IE.

Three and a half years later, I haven't.

It works, okay? I just don't see what all the fuss is about FF. It's installed on my laptop, and I never use it. It's a browser. It displays webpages. Just like the other two. Internet Explorer is fully compatible with practically every site (I had no problems getting the full Hotmail Experience or any add-ons like Silverlight), while Opera uses about a tenth of the RAM that FF uses... So if I'm doing RAM-intensive stuff, I either up the pagefile or use Opera. Otherwise, it's IE for me...

Unless I'm missing something about Firefox, that is...

IE = boooo!
Opera = boooo!

i use FF for the add-ons. makes my life more easier. if Safari came with the ability to have the same add-ons i would switch over to it, but alas, it doesn't so FF for me.

In task manager FF3 takes up about 90,000K. Is this normal?

Btw, type about:robots into your address bar if you're using FF3. You'll get a little easter egg.

Yeah I got FF3 when it was first released. I absolutely love it. It is such a great browser IMO. I had several problems with IE7, and have experienced non of them with FF.

You have Opera, isn't that kinda expensive?

Has anyone tried Flock? It is a social webbrowser that just incorporated Firefox 3 into their browser. I think it is pretty cool.

Depends on how many tabs you have open. Around 90 MB is normal for 1 or 2 tabs.

Alrighty. I'm just glad it doesn't really slow down my PC.

actually opera uses a LOT of ram, FF3 isnt even making a fingerprint on my RAM usage right now, i have 3 browsers of FF3 open with 2 tabs in each. also its much much more secure

EDIT: how to explain the security:

Internet explorer is the same program that is used to explore folders and files on your computer so if a hacker gains access to internet explorer the hacker gains access your your entire computer, with firefox it is not integrated deeply into your computer so if a hacker gains access to firefox, all the hacker can do is surf the web on your computer, nothing more

Opera uses much more memory than FF but it's not that bad. We can all agree on one thing though, and that is everything kicks IE's ass!
