It's a decent cRPG, but not at all the best. It's a very cinematic experience and good fun all around, but it definitely is not without its issues - and those will be readily apparent. Especially around the middle of the game when the story - well, you know, I think I'll let you experience that for yourself. Don't expect anything of the Baldur's Gate, Planescape or Fallout calibur. Though Mass Effect might topple, say, Oblivion in terms of both FPS (for the purposes of this, we'll assume all shooters - TPS or otherwise - are termed FPS) and RPG elements, as well as story; it unfortunately just does not hold up to Bioware's older works. Though their age might be showing, Mass Effect is not to be passed up. It's fun - good fun. And the PC version can only be moreso. DLC content, mods (yes, I'm sure there will be mods - look at Bioware's track record with them), and nice little updates here and there to make the game much less frustrating are all lending towards quite the masterwork. Do keep the grain filter on, though - it definitely makes the game prettier. Oh, and hey! Alien breasts.
