If you like western RPGs then you should definitely check it out. Most of the problems that made it a pain to play on x360 should be fixed in the PC version and you get the DLC for free.

Like I said before if you like western RPGs it a must play.

It is an amazing game, with an incredible story and amazingly detailed history.  Each time I have played through it, it has been around 30 hours (I'm on my fourth playthrough right now), so you should have no problem making it worth the money.  It is awesome.  Can't really say much more than that.

if they fixed any of the issues that were present on the 360 build then it's definitely a great game to pick up. i'll install windows on my mac just for this game even though it won't be as great as running it off a high-end pc. i'm more interested in the storyline above all else.

Or watched star trek at all.

I don't miss owning a 360 but I miss ME. Really good, immersive storyline.

gAAH! don't ruin it for me! lol

it's ok, it's hard to really get an original story these days. as long as it's a good story with great characters and whatnot it's worth paying for in my books.

Great game.  If you liked KOTOR, you'll love this.

Yeah it's a 3rd person shooter with RPG elements with a kick arse story that has you coming back for more.  Plus they abilities in the PC version can have macros so you won't pause the battle when selecting your traits which should increase the battle heckticness 10 fold

protheans = forerunner
reapers = flood
conduit = halo

I'm not saying they're identical - or that halo did these things first - but the storylines are uncannily simmilar

if you like kotar or western rpgs its good but if your expecting something like gears youll be dissapointed.

and its not that the story is overly different from halos its that mass effect delivers it better and has sub-plot (a must for many fellow rpg people)

It's a decent cRPG, but not at all the best. It's a very cinematic experience and good fun all around, but it definitely is not without its issues - and those will be readily apparent. Especially around the middle of the game when the story - well, you know, I think I'll let you experience that for yourself.

Don't expect anything of the Baldur's Gate, Planescape or Fallout calibur. Though Mass Effect might topple, say, Oblivion in terms of both FPS (for the purposes of this, we'll assume all shooters - TPS or otherwise - are termed FPS) and RPG elements, as well as story; it unfortunately just does not hold up to Bioware's older works. Though their age might be showing, Mass Effect is not to be passed up. It's fun - good fun. And the PC version can only be moreso. DLC content, mods (yes, I'm sure there will be mods - look at Bioware's track record with them), and nice little updates here and there to make the game much less frustrating are all lending towards quite the masterwork.

Do keep the grain filter on, though - it definitely makes the game prettier. Oh, and hey! Alien breasts.

Mass Effect is great for the PC and tons of mods are going to be made. Just look at KoTOR, people are still making mods.

I got Mass Effect for the 360 a couple of days ago. I've only played about 4 hours of it yet but so far it has impressed me.
