I know that a lot of you here are quite avid with collecting memorabilia and collector's items based on videogames and stuff, but just what exactly do you have and what kind of stuff do you find yourself purchasing more often than others?

I'll personally buy anything - the Gamestation near where I live stocks quite a variety. I buy almost all of the t-shirts they sell (mostly 'cause they're either of retro design or of newly released games design), and I'm always keeping an eye out instore and online for models, posters, stickers and sweatbands... I've noticed lately that I've been collecting quite a lot of sweatbands... I've got a PacMan one, an Umbrella (of Resident Evil fame) one, one with the new Resident Evil logo, a Devil May Cry 4 one, a Metal Gear Solid 4 one, a Triforce one, a Hyrulian Shield one and a Shroom one... I kinda mix and match them with various baseball caps (of gaming design) and t-shirts. Yesterday, I went total Gears of War for example (I even had the belt buckle! Hahaha!).

So yeah! What kind of memorabilia do you mostly buy? And is it often for games you love or for the look of the memorabilia itself? Where do you buy all your stuff too? Any decent websites you'd like to share?

I used to collect happy meal toys when I was little.  Now the only thing I collect is dust in my room.

    :)

I wish I had the money to spend on such items. However, my current financial situation does not permit me to enjoy the little luxuries of life.

i've never really collected much but i've just started collecting some FF stuff.
there are some cool SotC stuff i want but they're uber expensive, that goes with a lot of the stuff i'd like to collect. too damn expensive for me.
as for websites i only go to ebay. play-asia is usually sold out the second something is released.
i don't know of any good websites to buy cool anime, gaming merchandise. if people can link some here it would be very appreciated.

    i'm more into buying t-shirts... i like me some t-shirts. i could say it's a collection.

I guess I buy collectors editions of things, if that counts...Otherwise I'm not much of a "collector". I never know where to put things like that.

Well I have spent a pretty good fortune on collecting stuff along different actions figures like TMNT or Beast Wars Transformers, model kits, trading cards  etc.

but the most recent one that I am most proud off are my collection of Zoid model kits and my growing collection of Gundam Model kits :D
but the world of collecting stuff is not that happy since after my last Gundam model kit berserk buying rage I ended up dry bone poor -_-

...but as soon as I have my stuff paid oh boy I am back in the action XD

being an Otaku is a full time job that you have to pay for T.T

    XD

I guess I'm lucky to have so many friends in Japan, then? xD Never would have guessed that a two year student transfer thingy would pay off THIS well... I get free lodging over the summer when I go over there, and they get hold of all the super rare stuff you can't get anywhere else for me... :P So I don't really need eBay all that much.

P.S. Being an Otaku is probably one of the greatest things on the planet to be... Much more fun than a chav, at any rate.

    grrrrr! i forever envy you!!!

my brother in law goes to japan twice a year to program for one of the companies there.
he usually asks me what i want from there. the one time he was there the new FF Potion cans were just released but the bugger forgot to get me them!
so i'm going to try a Solid Snake move one day and hide in a cardboard box and see if they'll ship me to japan XD
i mean, i play MGS enough i think i've mastered the art of cardboard hiding

P.S. i can't officially say i'm Otaku. i love everything enough to be thought of one but my past life styles and life changes never gave me much time to really be one. you can say i lived as an closet geek in the inside most of my life.

Those potion things were awesome! :D Although I remember that a lot of people had to be careful about buying them from eBay, 'cause most were complete fakes. Moreso than often found with stuff like that, I should point out. I still have the empty "bottles" on the cabinet downstairs... xD Right next to my unopened Vaan, Squall, Cloud, Zidane and Tidus figurines... :P

P.S. I'm not sure if a cardboard box that reads "East Wing: Weapons Lab" will really pass too well in Japan... xD

    I;ve got tonnnes of stuff.

from the 1991 sonic plush toys, the Sonic 2 mcdonalds toys and the later LCD toys, the kelloggs sonic yoyo and Sonic 2 pin badge set, to the limited edition FF8 Tiamat (only 2500 in the world), I have many figures from MGS to tomb raider and Halo.

I do actually collect devil may cry stuff specifically all things Dante , I have the KT figure colections for 1 and 2, Dante figure from DMC, the revoltech dante figure for DMC3, the DMC2 necklace, the DMC4 lighter and keyring, the artcards for 2 and 3, the soundtrack for 2, two jap art books, the stamp collection, the DMC3 ArtFX statues, DMC2 standee, jap poster from 2, english posters for 1 and 3, probably some other stuff I forgot. not that bothered about 4 as it's all Nero really.

one thing I would love to have is the Diesel belt from DMC2 but thats very expensive .

I have many things from shows and work, keyrings, pens, t-shirts, bags, coats etc.

Hell I just have many things, too many things and most of them are games related, or games, I have 30+ consoles and over 400 games, some of which are worth money.

I have all the boxes for all my figures as well, only a few have never been out there boxes (the DMC ones) but I have all the boxes for everything (except some of the older consoles).

Well seeing as I'm getting a job sometime soon, I'm going to begin collecting those kick ass looking swords which you see in Green Earth, and also, spend +$500 at Anime North seeing I will have the money to do as such(hopefully), I'll probably buy stuff which is harder to find.

Man i'm so jealous of you Corrupt you seem to go to Japan often, one of the few places I'd actually wanna go to xD. No fair.
