ive been planning to mod my wii for some time,  since it's PAL ive been trying to make it NTSC compatible. So far the best price ive found was $45, but still not sure about it

so has anyone here ever go their wii modded?

if not, just anything in general. i know someone who got his psp to work as a phone (well sort of)

I installed a Wiikey on my launch Wii a while ago. I would advise you to be extremely careful as the new chipsets with the cut pins(legs) make for an extremely hard install. Make sure if you take it somewhere that they can be trusted.

Or if you are talking about just buying the chip and doing it yourself. First you have to know what chipset your Wii has. 2nd you better be damn confident in your dremel/solder skills if it is a D2B chipset or higher, and if it is a D2C chipset or higher only a certain number of chips will work.

Start by figuring out what Chipset you have....
Then go HERE
Then Search HERE for anything else.

Good Luck if you try it yourself, My chip was the size of a dime with 6 solder points....Scared the hell out of me.

I wouldn't recommend modding because you introduce dust to your wii...right now I'm unable to play brawl and that's the only game I want to play...I installed a wiikey too.  If you don't have the money to buy another wii I wouldn't recommend it.
