Ever since last night, my monitor[Samsung Syncmaster 225BW] has been turning itself on and off at random times, and i can't get the revolution to go to where it should be.  I thought it was my computer, since it was still turning the screen on and off after i turned off the monitor, but when i unplugged the monitor, i think i had no issues.

I restarted and turned off my computer and it still does the same thing today. Anyone have any idea why this happens?  I bought this from a friend at school, so I cant return it at a store or anything, maybe its not the monitor either.

check the power cable, it might be a little loose and for the rotation pick it up and look for the arrow on the stand and put it towards you, you have reached the end of the rotation because the stand is all the way to one side

Maybe the ribbon cabble from the screen to the main body of the machine is worn out from opening and closing.
