Most Re-Playable Game of All Time? - Thursday, October 22, 2009 8:53 PM
Its gotta be a retro game.  My vote goes for Bomberman 2.  Personally I had a multi-tap and me and my friends played that game for 10 hours straight at a time.

Here's an interesting list of the ten most replay-able games:

Ignoring the shameless advertising...

For me, it's either FFTA or the Golden Sun games. I remember playing those through at least a good hundred times a piece. They were just that awesome.

That list sucks. The Lack of SMB's 3 is disturbing... Also, where's the Starcraft? Diablo 2?

hmm thats a tough one, but id say conkers bad fur day for the n64, its got everything from giant bosses made of poothat sing( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0w5neFPat1w ), to horny bees and sunflowers with big breasts. and with 4P multiplayer, and lots of bots, it truly is a great game

For me, it's Crysis. I'll install a new graphics config or mod and play through the entire 10+ hour single player. I've beaten it like 15 times and it doesn't lose its wow-factor.

Retro....?

For me it was Star Fox on the n64.

I played that game at least a thousand times before discovering it had multiplayer.

If I had to go back further, Donkey Kong.

Probably Super Mario Bros 3.

I'd also put Diablo 2 pretty high on the list.

played endless hours of Gauntlet:Dark Legacy with my sis on Gamecube
I guess every game made by Blizzard would make this list

When I was like 5 or something me and my sis played

BATTLE CITY for Family Computer (a.k.a NES) for HOURS and HOURS

megaman series is also the cause of my masochistic outlook on games - harder the better :)

My List :
Super Metroid  (SNES)
The Legend of Zelda : A Link to the Past (SNES)
Adventures of Lolo (NES)
Super Punch Out (SNES)
Tetrisphere (64)
Tetris Attack (SNES)

I played the crap out of those games multiple times.

Super Metroid if I had to choose one.

I agree, I think after crysis/crysis warhead though dead space is the game that i've played through the most. Crysis/warhead are both so action packed that it's a great game to just pick up and thrash it out, the story is pretty solid too, although there are those that would disagree, i think it's above the lame current standard for game stories. I have played warhead through more times, just because i know it's only about 4 hours front to back. Dead space though, it's all about the gameplay, that game F-ing rocked, awesome combat, coolest upgrades and weapons ever, nuff said.

EDIT: just saw that it was supposed to be a retro game, i misread it as you saying the most replayable games have 'gotta be retro' as in you think older games were more replayable.

I would consider banjo kazooie retro considering it is more than 10 years old, i used to do speed runs, get every single item in the game and do it in about 5.5 hrs, quite an achievement, and it was fun everytime, i was so pissed when there was no gamecube banjo game

If were going super retro, it would have to be 'tanks' on atari, simple,, satisfying, and there was always a "IN YOUR FACE SUCKER!" to/by my brother when one of us won........the analogue sticks ( the old skool "thumb stick" were majorly loose in their sockets at the end of the atari's life

Bah, why does it have to be a retro game? These newer games are far more in depth than those, making for a different experience each time you play it. Well... My vote WAS for fallout 3, but... I guess tetris? I can't honestly say I play any of the 8 bit era games, and the 16 bit games I have a select few I play every 5ish years just to experience the story lines again.

Just like the corrupt, the Golden Sun series was really fun to replay. however, though FFTA was good, I played it a lot but not FFT lot. The final fantasy tactics on the PS1 is a marvel I can't get tired of its story and engaging gameplay. The Prince of Persia sands of time series, I played warrior within like hell. The original Gran Turismo and Zelda, A link to the past.
